Yes, thats fine, but Robertos problem is that if he plays Naismith solely as a striker, he has to cover the loss of Naismiths defensive contribution, and that would almost certainly mean that Gibson would not be picked in midfield, our midfield would be OK(on paper!) defensively, but lack any creativity at all. Far to many on here under estimate how valuable Naismith is to the team, and therefore to Roberto. It proves that not being as technically gifted as others are supposed to be does not neccessarily mean you are not one of the first names on the team sheet.

Exactly, was watching a program about the history of El Classico last night and they had a quote from the great Alfredo Di Stefano, something along the lines of 'to have a successful building site you need to have architects, labourers etc as well as skilled builders' ie. You can't just pick the 11 best technical players and expect a good team.

Yeah, but when he doesn't play we don't really miss his 'defensive contribution' so why should it be any different when he's up top?

Literally half of you can't wait to call our players crap when we sign them.

Its a bit weird.

It's because we have a load of two faced beauts following us. Remember Lakaku, he had a touch like a baby elephant and we got ripped off a few weeks ago. The same people are now worried that Wolfsburg are going to buy him in the summer as he is the hottest young striker in Europe.

Jags should be stripped of the captaincy was another, now the same beauts are saying he is leading by example. Some even called for Eto'o to be captain, but a minute later claimed he was a bad influence on the team with his attitude.

Badly two faced some people on here, you know who you are.

A Madrileno friend refers to him as Snr Segundo,so what would Di Stefano know. But then here in Valencia he was God.I think Clough's Forest team proved the point, quite a few journeymen but won the European Cup twice

Yes, Kone carried the ball down the left wing then moved inside with the ball before giving it to Lennon, who then laid it out to Seamus.

Kone then moved into the box and took up a position at the near post for Seamus to aim at and all the defender could do to stop him was hit the ball straight to Lennon and voila.

Kone played crucial roles in both goals.

Just re-watched it. All he really does is jog a ball 10 yards unchallenged then misplace a pass which happened to fall to Lennon before showing a decent bit of movement and having a shot blocked. I wouldn't really give him praise for that.

Would you not?

I suppose when you are really down on a guy you refuse to see owt good about him at all.

Not really. In my first post I said "he did well for the first goal". On its one line and everything.

I just don't think one goal in 18 games is good enough considering the chances he's had.

I think the problem with Kone is that there may be a real doubt about his return to full fitness. I think he is still being nursed along , we saw that he wasn't brought to Switzerland because of the plastic pitch and he is used very sparingly in the first team, putting a huge workload on Lukaku.

All players are just one injury away from the end of their careers but in Kone I don't think it would take the major incident needed to finish other players.

You mean run faster but play slower?
He actually is looking for options that are not existing. He needs to challenge the six yard box like Lukaku not waiting on the perimeter. How many times has he picked the wrong pass or think Baines has lightening speed and threads the ball to no mans land. I just don't get it. He seems up for it but the choices seem lacking.

Honestly mate, just the crap players, im willing to give everybody a chance, even McGeady, but I think his ship has sailed.

When we signed Kone I thought he would be a decent back up, but sadly hes rubbish, like really, really rubbish.
