Yes, thats fine, but Robertos problem is that if he plays Naismith solely as a striker, he has to cover the loss of Naismiths defensive contribution, and that would almost certainly mean that Gibson would not be picked in midfield, our midfield would be OK(on paper!) defensively, but lack any creativity at all. Far to many on here under estimate how valuable Naismith is to the team, and therefore to Roberto. It proves that not being as technically gifted as others are supposed to be does not neccessarily mean you are not one of the first names on the team sheet.
Exactly, was watching a program about the history of El Classico last night and they had a quote from the great Alfredo Di Stefano, something along the lines of 'to have a successful building site you need to have architects, labourers etc as well as skilled builders' ie. You can't just pick the 11 best technical players and expect a good team.
