Are we stronger than last season?

Now the dust has settled, we are indeed strong as an 11.

We are much weaker in the CF position, it was always going to be difficult replacing his goals and unfortunately we really [Poor language removed] up there.

Hopefully DCL and Sandro can do bits until Xmas, then we clearly need to invest in a striker.

How the hell can we be stronger when we've not replaced 25 goals was it? So no we're not. I'm still utterly livid with not getting a striker in totally ( to me ) will derail us and what we can do.

Yeah this is true but we are also going to defend better and should concede less. We lost one player and bought 9 in many of of those look very good players and better then what we had

We are only stronger in squad depth and defence.

We have sold Lukaku and his 25 goals and didn't replace him.

We have one winger out through long term injury in Bolasie and Mirallas who wanted to move to Olympiakos so clearly his mood will not help us.

We replaced Barkley with 3 AMs so we will be alright there.

Had we got a striker in I'd say we are stronger but atm, I don't see us stronger except maybe squad depth.

Not going to win many games if we've got no one to score the goals, it's criminal that Lukaku was not replaced, the typical Everton transfer window of hard luck stories and if's, but's and maybe's should be a thing of the past but it seem's they are as incompetent as ever.

Below is a example of how we have not improved. The bookies know their stuff and thats how they make their money. They are putting spurs at pretty much evens to win at goodison park.
For those not to familiar with odds that means they have spurs as strong favourites to win away to Everton. Spurs are also ranked by the bookies at being the 5th best team and very similar to arsenal and worse than the other 4 teams above. We are a country mile away from the top 6. The bookies clearly think we are no threat whatsoever to the top 6 as the weakest of those teams are near evens to win at our ground.
I can assure you that had we signed a striker such as giroud or a player of similar stature we would be looking at very different odds for this game. This is what annoys me. It's been a horrific end to the window and we are not a strong team now at all. In fact if you go back to last season we were judged closer to spurs than this by the bookies and they had a great season.View attachment 40303
You cant base our progress on bookies odds tho surely. That lot were 11/10 at home to Arsenal last week when every man and his dog knew they would murder them. So much so I lumped on it. I wouldn't back Tottenham at even money at Everton even if I wasn't a blue so I'm not reading to much into that.

Yeah, like @faddy the blue has done above, you have to break it down by different areas of the squad. GK = Yes, Defence = Yes, Middle of the park = Same (strong here anyway) Forwards = worse.

If we get a striker, this year's team would beat last year's 5-2. As things stand right now, if we played each other, it would be a draw. We certainly haven't gotten weaker.
