I loved it. He said he did very well but wasn't impressed.

It seems like it's bloody hard to impress the boss and that's a good thing.

Think it was more of a "keep on improving and dont let it get to your head" message for the under 23s to be fair and donkor was just used as the name to do it.

The "did well, but" is what I would expect from RK, Unsy's the one to talk them up if needed. Last year the lad would have been phenomenal , in a pure moment of form and Wolfsburg would have hiked the price to £10 mill.
I put a link on a couple of threads a while back showing Lookman and Calvert-Lewin scoring for England u20s against Germany, someone pointed out that earlier in the link Donkor was shown, he was skipping past Kenny with ease to lay the ball back from the goal line.
I would imagine we had a few people at that game as Kenny, DCL, Connolly involved with Dowell on the bench. I wonder if it was this game that brought him , and Lookman, to our attention.

Went to the game, he played well but wasn't stand out impressive. Probably a fair assessment. Was strong and fast but technically a bit lacking, but that will come. Could be useful for us with game time, as his pace caused a lot of trouble.

well playing 3-5-2 he has the full backs but when that goes tits up like Wednesday and it gets changed we are severely lacking in width. I wouldn't have flogged Del if we weren't bringing in another winger as an option but that's just my opinion mate.

Completely agree and I made the same points in the match thread. When the 3-5-2 gets found out and shut down we're very limited in our ability to change the shape of the team with the players we have now.

Hahaha, just watching the presser now and I'm up to the bit where Koeman said that we wasn't impressed with him the other night. Brutal like, but he was being honest. Nice to have a manager that's hard to please.
