Total misinterpretation imo. He's saying he's not impressed because he knew what to expect. A total non story lost in translation.
Totally correct Koeman's definition of impressed is that something happens that he did not expect, in other words, he played how he expected to play.
You may recall after the City game, he took Davies to one side and showed a video of what he did wrong, I am afraid we will have to have a rethink on how good our players are as opposed to RKs definition of good.
Donker will be in the first team squad before season's end.
Barkley and Mirallas have more to fear RK than Donker

Yes Steve Walsh just confirmed on the Everton show

...interesting that Walsh said he'd appointed a head of U21 recruitment who has a couple working for him (one of whom is Tony Grant) and that group identified Donkor. Walsh said their remit is to recommend 4 or 5 top young players for consideration. I suspect that's where the links with George Hirst, Terrier and Carolina came from.

Yes it's nothing but positives for me. Their are so many short sighted people who just want to see Walsh sign 2 unknown players who end up being top players that's the icing on the cake and is going to be very very difficult to replicate he is a marked man.

If sir Alex ferguson call you the most important man in the premier league then do people seriously consider that other clubs aren't simply following his every move there is a twitter page scouts in attendance every move we make player we watch will attract other clubs.

Back to the point I was trying to make he seems to have set up a new structure within the recruitment & Scouting department at the club which identify players for Koeman to then decide upon.

I'll say it again I'm struggling to see a negative our u23 set up is perfect they are being run to mirror an actual
First team be interesting to know who else if anybody also follows this model.

not sure where people are getting the 'he was alright' from.

He was literally the best player on the pitch for us in that game and was extremely impressive. If he could keep it up, we'll sign him and he might get on the bench by the end of the season.

Koemans comments where more that he expects the player he gets in to be good, so he wasn't surprised.

Not that he was average.

yeah ,i thought he was pretty good, and when i heard Koerman,i thought i watched a different player, but going by what people say koeman meant,i get what koeman really means now, funny how you change what koeman means in so many different ways

...but it's not easy. Filtering 5 players from all you watch that you know fit into the requirements of RK/SW is a challenge. Lots of cold nights watching in crowds of a few hundred doesn't sound like a good job to me, they'll be sacked if they don't deliver.
It was a bit of a tongue in cheek comment Eggs. Getting paid to go and watch football.

And Kokcu? Thought we were supposed to put into place a pre-contract with him? Did that materialise as Spurs were also sniffing

I took this to be Jamie Hoyland the U23s scout who Unsy had a joint interview with the other week. In that they spoke about jointly watching Donkor, and Hoyland mentioned there were a couple of other coaches with him. Unsy had worked with him before ( Preston maybe?) and said he wanted him to scout specifically for the U23s , and Walsh agreed to this. As Walsh is also head of scouting/re ruitment he reports to him , I'm assuming he also works with Unsy too. A bit blurry but whatever it is it works.
