He could spin that quote when removing
Moyes by thanking him for the stability/lack of relegation worry - hence the "happily" bit - while feeling 14th and two early cup exits meant we had to look elsewhere (hence "dissatisfied").
What he can't spin is the bit about the club not being the type to sack managers. That was the egregious comment because it implied his satisfaction in
Moyes's progress. Why else mention that?
Nah, we're stuck with this failing manager. He should have been replaced last summer as his job was done. There was some mitigation then for keeping him on, but none now. The decision to keep him tells you about their ambition. We need to accept our status as a sound investment and footballing also-ran.
