I'd rather a new signing thought and pronounced he was going to do all he can to be an automatic starter. Just seems like he'll be happy to be here and pick up his wedge.

He does though. Says he's been signed as a squad player but wants to work to be more than that.

Think it will depend on who else comes in tbh and who goes, I don't mind him as backup but as a starter I'm not sure he is what's needed, everything is very up in the air atm.

Comes across well in the interview, doing media work has clearly helped him in that respect.

As a player, I've always thought he looks really dangerous in the beginnings of games, but then if things don't go his way or his team go behind, he goes into his shell and doesn't really contribute after that. If he could sustain his best level for 90 minutes, he'd be a good player.

…I didn’t mind him as a player a few years ago but he’s hardly a progressive signing. All I’m seeing in respect of the manager appointment and signings is that we are looking to be safe.

I remembering playing for England and never putting a foot wrong… club wise he hasn’t put a foot right…
