Confirmed Signing Andros Townsend

Why is it that a supposedly average winger who is in and out of the Crystal Palace team can put in a cross like he did last night that no one else in an Everton team (maybe except James at times) has been able to put in for years?

Just shows how far off the pace we are that we’re made up with Townsend and Gray (I’m not saying either aren’t good players) and how much better they are than what we’ve had before. Imagine though what it’s like having the likes of Sterling Mahrez Pulisic Havertz Ziyech Rashford Greenwood Sancho Son Bale etc. though who are all a level above. We’re absolutely miles off these teams.

Still don't think he's anything special though, and hell frustrate a lot. Can't complain with his start.

He can easily get 10+ assists plus 5-10 goals this season if he plays most games. If he was to end on say 6 goals and 10 assists it will have proven to be a superb signing.

I'm so used to us conceding that type of goal to a Townsend-type player.

I like Townsend. He is a useful and efficient player. He is a two-way player, can use both feet, has good crosses, and a player you can always trust does his job. Nothing spectacular, but effective in the right context. In the long run, he probably will not be the player who steals all the headlines, and should probably be more of a suad player, than a starter, but he is still a player who is invaluable to a manager and a team.
