I've been to the Chester, Rhos on Sea and West Kirby Hickory's and they're all really good.

Here in Jacksonville, at a certain tucked away Springfield breakfast spot, you can walk away with a Breakfast in a Cup — grits, butter, cheese, an egg your way and choice of breakfast meat — for $2.50 (after tax) and wash it down it with a can of Busch at 7 in the morning.

I HAVE to jump in on this. imo, eastern NC is terrible. Vinegar? blech. It's not BBQ(again, IMO). BBQ is the smoke and the rub and all that. Was told there was a subset that has memphis WITH the vinegar, that sounds delicious.

and I live like 50 miles from the NC border.

Tabasco Sauce is vinegar based...it's ace.

Since I am not original to Eastern NC, I agree it is not BBQ, but it is good eatin'
