I still don't see how managers winning trophies abroad and being successful (again not the elite) are discarded for the likes of Dyche because they don't have premier league experience, or know the league.

Imagine weighing up the likes of Dyche and Fonseca... and discarding Fonseca (who has won leagues and trophies where he has been) because he doesn't know the league.

Am not saying Fonseca is THE man, but the insular short sighted approach to only looking for premier league experience really grinds on me.

imagine if all clubs where that short sighted... Wenger would never have joined Arsenal from Grampus in Japan.

I’m sick of us looking so close to home or “ what manager does good there “ hel do! Go abroad and expand the horizon for once

I'm not ONLY looking for Premier League experience, however, it's ludicrous to suggest that having knowledge of the league upon which Everton play in is not worth a tick in the positive column is it not?

Stability is overrated. We need better structures in place so the manager can be changed as often as necessary without huge upheaval. That's why the DOF is so important and why I think Walsh has been such a failure. He has implemented no structures or style and now has his mates in charge. He's overseen a mess with no vision or direction.

The whole regime needs to go cause it stinks. And when something stinks then it's better to right the mistake as early as possible. That's why I strongly disagree with anyone saying we need stability. We have none right now. Only a new manager and new DOF can bring it. Why persist with something bound to fail?

To be fair, the 'football' Sam Allardyce has brought along isn't the 'Everton' way either.
and that justifies binning off Managers after 2 months does it? We were in an utter mess when he turned up, it's going to take time. He's only just managed to get a couple of forwards in. Now McCarthy is gone for the rest of the season.

I disagree old friend

I think Dyche has been working wonders at Burnley. He's got comparatively pennies to work with and had them banging on the door of the top 4 at points this season

To me, he'd be an excellent appointment

He's ready for that next step IMO
How long would he be given? a month? two?
He's been sorting out Burnley for seven years and they'll sink like a stone with half the injuries we already have.

I am not suggesting just you mate or directly making that comment towards you, I know of a conversation that took place when we where searching for managers in which there was absolute panic from some at the thought of being bold enough and looking outside these shores for a new manager.

The world is a big place, IMO to value premier league experience over someone who has a record of winning trophies and playing good football is in my opinion mental...

Prem experience should be a column when shortlisting, but it should be heavily outweighed by multiple other things.

Wait until Paolo Fonseca's contract ends with Shaktar and get him in.
Why wait? Just try to take him. Ruin their season like we ruined Watford's. Then we can look at another manager yet again in Summer - one we haven't ruined the reputation of.

Keep Sam until end of season.

In the meantime do a comprehensive search for managers that are interested in signing for us. If in the summer Silva is still top of that list then sign him.

I have my reservations about him as his downfall at Watford was due to lack of professionalism, he was rattled by the interest we showed and effectively gave up. Do we really want that sort of character no matter how good he is?

Also like I said on my other post - Koeman had prem experience, so did Martinez - Martinez done more in the country then Dyche has and he failed.

I have often banged the drum for Joachim Loew

Not only is he not from the Premier League he's not even in club football at the moment

I'd still love to have him at Everton

However, I would have to accept that not having experience in the League would raise questions of his suitability
