There's another option and one which I'm desperate for the club to persue which is this: keep Allardyce till the summer then get another manager but stay as far away from Marco Silva as possible.

Sam Allardyce for the duration, unless he really screws up. He's only been in the job a couple of month or so; let's at least afford him a reasonable amount of time, as we did the two previous managers. Then we can bring in Brendan Rodgers.

Some assumptions - feel free to challenge them.

Everton's board;
  • Wanted Silva.
    Chased him for a while, offered a significant compensation fee for him.
  • Didn't want Allardyce.
    Could have had him in within hours of Koeman's sacking. Allardyce knew he wasn't wanted, publicly withdrawing himself to save face.

    "I think when you’re sat in my position you want people to be decisive and feel like they want you. I didn’t get that feeling overall. They were hesitating that I was the man.”

  • Allardyce was only ever here until the end of the season.
    Some will disagree with this, but the hesitancy of the appointment, the contract length (after negotiation, EFC would have wanted less, Allardyce longer) - I think he was an absolute last resort and a panic appointment to save us from the abyss. Everton sacked Koeman too early, Unsworth was given a torrid run of games and there was too much media pressure on Everton's hierarchy - they caved with Allardyce.
With those assumptions - given all this was just 30th November, if you're Farhad Moshiri, what do you do?

Poll then...
Then theres always. Sack Allardyce now. Bring somebody else in.

Obviously sonebody already lined up beforehand.
