What would be a bigger embarrassment to the club is to bring in an even worse manager then the dunderhead we already have purely to play some better football but still lose (because that's exactly what would happen with Silva at the helm).

This will end In the summer when we can show Big Sam the door breath a sigh of relief that this horrid season is over and know that we can find a manager who derserves this job and will be good for the club. It's simply better then panicking now and bringing in another substandard manager purely because he won't park the bus. I'm sure we'd all be relieved initially were Big Sam to get the bullet today but the euphoria would soon wear off once we realise that we are stuck with Marco Silva next season at least!

As for saying "this will not stand" you must know as well as I do that it will. The only way Big Sam gets sacked is if the club here their long term replacement and I fear for the club's future if the powers that be put their faith in Silva to lead us forward!:(
There needs to be a big hint given then that Allardyce will step aside in the summer. If we struggle in the next few weeks (which I think likely) there will be a lot of dissent and it could get very ugly.

I have no problem gritting my teeth and enduring this until May if some signal is made that Allardyce will go at that point. But if there's the slightest hint that he's going to see out an 18 month contract that is not acceptable for I would say 95% of Everton supporters.

In Silva's time in England there's actually very little between their records.

Last season Silva took over with Hull rock bottom and lost their two best players. Allardyce took over with Palace just outside the relegation zone and spent £30m.

This season Silva has arguably out-performed Allardyce given the respective squads they have.

Don’t get me wrong mate, I’m not keen on Allardyce staying beyond the end of the season either.

Just don’t think Silva is a step up from what’s currently on offer

By the way, this is another reason Unsworth should have been persevered with. If we'd stuck with Unsworth (and the points per game stats comparison between him and SA since he arrived underline we'd have been no worse off now if we had) then we'd be in a position now to pick Silva up for nothing.

But Moshiri panicked like a big girl's blouse, the clueless divvy.

What conundrum?

Silva has just been sacked for poor results after a rival turned his head. Doesn’t shout loyalty or focus to me.

If it was that easy to turn his head, why would he be any different at Everton? Sounds like he was after a big pay day.

He would need to do exceptionally well to get his head turned by the top 6 or a European giant. You run that risk. That's the game these days. But if he gets his move it's cause we'll have done really well. I think it's a moot point tbh.

You must know that he won't be here the full term of his contract. The 18 months is purely about financial security for Allardyce and his people. It might not of been publically stated but it's perfectly obvious to everyone that Big Sam won't be here next season. In the million to one chance he is then I will be the first to demand not only that he back sacked but that certain powers at the club be forced out. The club will not make public that fact that he won't be seeing his contract out though, for God's sake it's painfully obvious that he won't and we don't need yet more drama. I don't think things will turn very ugly at the match mate. There's a difference between the melodrama of our online fanbase and our match going fans who despite all the negativity written about them are far less likely to turn on the team or manager in a big way. Now if Big Sam was still here in Aug (he won't be) then things would turn very ugly, very quickly.

Or a rich Chinese club.

My point remains - he has let Watford down dramatically since he was linked with us. That is totally unprofessional and is a big red flag for me.

Looking back I always used to smile at the pictures of the Geordies and the West Ham fans turning on Allardyce, and coming out with stuff about how “he’s ruining this club” and “ the football we’re watching is dire” etc etc! I actually don’t think they were even watching stuff as dire as we are having to endure!
Karma is a bitch - I ain’t smiling now!

He won't go to China. He's someone who wants to win and become the best. Not only about money. I think my point stands. It was the same when people worried about Koeman being picked up, albeit he flopped. If there ever reaches a stage where say Barcelona want any everton manager, then we've been hugely successful.

I've been saying all along that he'd be gone in the summer. However, to settle the matter down a broad hint that this is indeed the case needs to be offered to exasperated fans. It needn't be a statement to that effect, that would be counter productive. But some form of words that conveys that we were in a bad situation when Allardyce arrived (blah blah blah) and that danger is receding now and it's job done (blah blah blah) needs to be made to signify to fans this has a very short life to it.

It's easy enough to do and it's what's required.
