At the end of the day Sam is doing a great job with one of our worst squads in many a year. If he can get us 7th this season with this lot then he deserves a hefty new contract.
I'm actually really looking forward to with what he can do for us next season with a big summer transfer window ahead.
Course you are.
Wummery.
This squad would finish 7-8 with Ken Dodd in charge.

He's been doing this since the Bolton days.

It's quite odd as to how he's often referred to as being a football "dinosaur", yet he's actually always been forward thinking in terms of the technology and methods he's embraced in the game.

As for Schneiderlin - you don't go from being as good as he to being rubbish just like that. He's having a bad season, but most players will be underperforming based on the upheavals in the team this season (three managers, of which Koeman seemed to want to be sacked, too many signings in the summer that aren't the sum parts of a team, etc.)

He was a dinosaur with techies around him at Bolton. I know first hand. Don’t believe everything you read.

Where are the ‘entertainment’ stats?

They’ll be that far in a minus there isn’t enough digits on the Big Galloots tech-pad to show it.

Get rid sharpish.

Players have made comments on BBC web page about not being able to hide in training etc....

As SA has stats on their running capacity & distance during matches & training & also their passing & completed passes too....it means there is no argument if a player is not performing as Sa has the details in black & white.

This is good management & the players seem to be responding to the managers ways, they are shown their stats after every match & can see for themselves their performances...Tom Davies has been seeking advice on how to improve his performances recently & scores a goal on his return it all seems very positive to me....

What are your thoughts...
So running around a lot, even if its unproductive, is definitely a sign of technical progress?

As in 'this pie is very small and that pie is far away' smart?

The players appear to be happy with SA & his methods, the stats are a useful tool for managers & the players are taking it on board....

If that means good cameradory & good team spirit within the team & a training culture that can be driven to improve performance of individual players that can only be good....

SA wil analyse the stats & assess the positives & the negatives & act accordingly.....

SA is a vastly experienced manager who is under estimated imo & should be given the opportunity to show what he can do, after 18 months an opinion can be reached whether to keep or replace....

Stats show different things to just distance travelled, it is a much more detailed account, SA has coaches trained in sport science so improvement can be made if the stats are used in the correct way.....

But does it show if they are any good?

It is all right running around constantly for ninety minutes and “putting in a shift”.....but it means sod all if the buggers don’t do much with the ball.

But it will show who is putting in a shift as you say.....

The other stats would show how effective the players were with or without the ball.....

SA can use this info to brief his players & team accordingly & make recommendations & improvement opportunities to the greater good of the team.....

There is no hiding place under SA......

No.

There is not.

That was very evident when they all crawled under under a rock and hid at Spurs and Arsenal
