The obvious conclusion is they were quite happy to hide in training before.
Funnily enough exactly this crossed my mind too .....
In my business I often set metrics and the motto I use is “they don’t do what counts ... they do what you count ...” in this way we shape the behaviour of staff and users
I am sure the same philosophy is at work here

I look at it this way....

If I was playing in the premier league today then I would certainly want my statistics available to me....

It shows distance ran during the game or training so it would clearly show who is not putting in a shift for the team....

But does it show if they are any good?

It is all right running around constantly for ninety minutes and “putting in a shift”.....but it means sod all if the buggers don’t do much with the ball.

Messi covers hardly any distance per game compared to most players. 50%+ fewer metres than the average striker.

Sigurdsson the most in the Premier league.

I know who I'd rather have.

Players have made comments on BBC web page about not being able to hide in training etc....

As SA has stats on their running capacity & distance during matches & training & also their passing & completed passes too....it means there is no argument if a player is not performing as Sa has the details in black & white.

This is good management & the players seem to be responding to the managers ways, they are shown their stats after every match & can see for themselves their performances...Tom Davies has been seeking advice on how to improve his performances recently & scores a goal on his return it all seems very positive to me....

What are your thoughts...
Useful more for spotting your weakspots it seems
Schneiderlin must rack up the stats good style in training to get picked

Quality over quantity
10 x 3yd passes that go nowhere, but count in the stats column
Or
1 x 30yd pass that opens the defence
Or
3 x 10yd passes that opens it 3 times

I never trust a statistic I didn't make up myself - Winston Churchill

Moyes brought ProZone into Everton and it's been there ever since.

Every manager has had access to the same data.

This is nothing new, why Jags is claiming this is new or different is bizarre. Seems to me like they've got the club captain out to push a line of Sam doing a good job.

He is obviously not using them properly though because Schneiderlin keeps getting a game.

Azza with the greatest respect, Jags is in a better position to state what is different manager to manager.

He is a player after all. And has actually been in Finch Farm.

At the end of the day Sam is doing a great job with one of our worst squads in many a year. If he can get us 7th this season with this lot then he deserves a hefty new contract.
I'm actually really looking forward to with what he can do for us next season with a big summer transfer window ahead.
