ALLARDYCE - Any positives

We'll put up a fight in the Anfield derby

Well, there is one major positive right away.....the trip to Anfield already feels less like the ritual slaughter we were starting to fear.

He will feel honoured and privileged to manage the club and he will be in awe of our history and standing as an original member of the Football League and an ever present in the EPL.

This is his final destination, not a stepping stone.....his head will not be turned with talk of succeeding Ferguson or Wenger or managing Barcelona like the last three incumbents were.

That is the best I can do right now....it is up to Sam to make me believe he has more in his locker than he is currently credited with ;)

Why do people think Allardyce has this great record against the rs for?

He's a down to Earth, no-nonsense, meat & potatoes type of guy, an ex-England manager with a 100% win rate, and he's going to lead our mighty Club into Europe. I might be a little drunk right now.

I have no idea what his record against them is like.

I am just thinking that we will at least battle a bit better against them than we were looking likely to do after Sunday.

Happen I am wrong about that.....or I might be right

Happy to make my own mind up about him when I see the results on the park - be arsed with all of this melodrama and hypotheticals.

Football journalism and fandom is dominated by groupthink. The thing with Barkley is he just has no footballing intelligence. or Fellaini isn't skillful enough to play in a Utd midfield - the casual fan comes out with mince like this all the time, because they don't watch enough football to form their own opinions. Allardyce plays Jurrasic Park kick and rush - maybe he has done and maybe that's all he knows, but I doubt that's the whole story so let's see.
