Harper did a good job for a very very good team. He was I suppose a Sandy Brown figure a good club man. Those type of players do not seem to exist these days.

The most important game was Bayern Munich away when we had a very makeshift team and came away with a 0-0 draw - not sure if he, and Richardson filled in, out of position..?

Both Harper and Rich played ,we were down to the bare bones and came away from the Olympic stadium with a clean sheet

Harper and Richardson were good for what they were. Versatile understudies. Of the 2, I rated Richardson higher and he went on to be a first teamer in his own right at villa. Looking back on a couple of sharpy’s misses reminds me how I didn’t really rate him at first. He really came good though. That was a proper team, and played as a team.

Richardson was a top player and couldn’t get in our midfield. Quality team
