China Offers the Taliban a Warm Welcome While Urging Peace Talks
Worried about the war in Afghanistan, China has stepped up diplomatic efforts with the government and the group to encourage a political settlement after the U.S. withdrawal.www.nytimes.com
This is actually a couple of months ago when the withdrawal was announced. There's also some footage here at around 2:13 -
I can appreciate the point, but in reality it isn't that simple. The real issue is that the Afghan government (or political elite) didn't allow enough real change. We're not that stupid.
There's no point. Spend 20 years training an army and they fold like a pack of cards immediately.
It's clear the people of Afghanistan by and large want to be a failed state and international pariah under the Taliban. Let them go about it. If there's a terrorist attack enabled by the Taliban, raize Kabul to the ground from the air.
" President Ashraf Ghani said he left the country in order to avoid bloodshed"
Presumably his own blood.
I hope you're actually taking the piss.I’m sure any minute now we will get a condemnation from BLM and we will all take the knee for the thousands of Afghans who will now be executed. Biden must be proud…….cretin…..
I hope you're actually taking the piss.
Then why peddle your own subjective (biased) views and opinion by bring up BLM and all the other nonsense when it has no relevance at all?I’m fuming tbh that all of our left wing, heart on a sleeve, virtue signalling folk, appear not to give a toss about what is now unfolding in Afghanistan.….

If you want to give a toss about what is folding to the people of Afghanistan, don't throw your own agenda out and try to divert it off topic.
It will be once the tribal civil wars start. No, it’s just a big graveyard….
