AFCON 2025

I didn’t watch live, but I’ve seen/read reports.

I can’t agree with the criticism against Senegal. OK, clearly it’s not acceptable for any team to “throw their rattle out the pram” & leave the field every time they believe they’ve had a bad decision……but :

A) It’s about time someone stood up against both corruption & sheer ineptitude in the game. It’s beyond a joke & with all the technology we have now, I believe we need a complete rethink. Example, the Rodri handball. 10000% bribery & corruption, no other explanation. Example, the penalty we didn’t get v Arsenal the other week, PGMOL come out & admit they were wrong….. well whoopydoo, what’s the point of that? IMHO, there should be consequences. VAR ref sacked, goal awarded & if that affects the result, then points adjusted.

B) WTF was going on behind the Senegal goal? What was a Morocco PLAYER doing there taking the towel? Any referee would have stopped that immediately. Why didn’t he? Then the ballboys! WTF! Never seen anything like that. The officials should have stopped the game & sorted that.

So I think Senegal were right to withdraw their players. Morocco should be severely punished & warned for future conduct.

Morocco should be investigated and probably banned from the next Afcon. Clearly trying to cheat by stealing the towel in the semi and then try again in the final. The fact the refs did nothing is suspect to say the least.
I'm all for it, both sides get to field 3 offensive and 3 defensive goal area players, not dictated to by the rules of the on field game. A souped up game of hyper aggressive kabaddi at both ends, blood and guts everywhere. Imagine the advertising, might even get mma teams together to dole out beatings. The crossover possibilities are endless.

Trouble is VAR PGMOL is not about sporting integrity. Its about what's best for the product.
