2025/26 Adam Aznou

Defo, but the process and pathway for it seems to be a mess. Aznou, Dibling and even George were clearly brought in with the expectation of them getting first team minutes (to varying degrees, but still). Moyes has then gone back on that (as he has with Rohl and even Patterson too - he was told in January that he couldn't be sold because he was first choice backup to O'Brien, only for Moyes to immediately use Garner instead). So they've now had a wasted year and probably are a bit pissed off which is bad a) for them, b) for our squad development and c) for our future transfer business.

Im not sure that was wholly the plan mate. To be fair each has had minutes.

I think perhaps you are maybe presuming things that may not have been agreed - do we know explicitly with promises made around playeing, i tink that speclitive.

Its Aznou im actually disappointed about, everyone at the club wanted him out on loan - then Myko got injured and they didnt risk it.

Patterson is done here mate, hes a non player IMO.

Rohl if im honest i thing they are trying to get him right physically, his body hasnt been up to withstanding senior football in the PL as yet IMO - i acutally think there is sports sceince work going on in the background with him which is why we hanent seen him.

I think we have brought Aznou, Dibling in with a fice year out look - with Geroge i think we like taking a younster in with a high ceiling and take it for a test drive, that seems to be our MO for the January window, we did it this year with Geroge and last with Charly.

Im ok with a lot of the new younger signings taking a year or 24 months to develop and bed in. We want the same again and create a pipline.

Recruitment and development plans should be made over timelines of years for well funtioning clubs.

Agree with your overall point about pipelines, absolutely. I just get the sense the club has gone 'lets get talented young players!' and not actually put in place a proper plan beyond that.

Aznou specifically left Bayern for game time, otherwise there was absolutely no point in the move.

Should we promise these players game time though or should they come in and have to earn it mate - i doubt we promise it to them and then renege on it - so i dont feel it anyway as we have mislead them morally or in terms of integrity - no 19 year old in the world can walk into a club and demand a staert - Endrick is out on loan at the moment. Look at Aznou he came on like mad dog V Sunderland and influenced the game, that's earning. He was due for a loan after that, that was the plan, but then Myko picked up an injury and we knocked back offers, everyone club included were very disappointed.

I go back to Dibling, we spent £35 mill on him, but does he deserve to start over Illy or Greenish, even McNeill right now - no - will he in a couple of years probably - Grealish will be 33 and McNeill is getting sold lets be honest i.e. pipline.

The time for these players will come, when it does they wont just be signed and dropped in they will already be imbedded in the club.

You're right but the debate is about minutes rather than starts. Or at least it should be imo.

Agree with the bulk of what you're saying, though not sure i doubt the bit in bold as much as you do.

Which isn't to say it was our plan to dupe these players into signing, but wouldn't be surprised at all if we've gone back on our word with a couple of these players at least.

Hate this argument, wanting a player to be given the opportunity to show if they’re any good or not is not the same thing as suggesting they’re amazing.
He gets an opportunity every day in training to show he’s good enough, the same opportunity they all get. If he’s not good enough in training he won’t be good enough in a match.

Should any manager be putting a player they don’t believe is good enough into the team to show the public that the player who isn’t good enough isn’t good enough?

That is Aznou, Rohl and Barry.
3 players signed without the physical traits of the league. you think that is good.

They are all at the best age for Development, look at Armstrong.
Development isn't warming a bench.

It's the constant "he played for Bayern" shouts I see as if him playing for the youth team matters one but.

Don't care where he came from , I thought he had a promising cameo and should at least be given at least a couple minutes in a game even if it's on the wing if Moyes doesn't trust him as a lb yet
There definitely appears to be a falling out behind the scenes and Moyes might not like his attitude.

Some players aren't great trainers though, you'd be surprised how some of the world's very best over the years didn't do it in training but came alive on a match day

How about the ‘we’ve been absolute bobbins at left back at times this season when Myko ish off it and honestly when we’re 3 down already what is the harm?’ Shouts when combined with the ‘we didn’t have the money for 5 year plans and kind of needed to see squad improvements all over with every penny we spent last summer’.
