His usefulness expands beyond the usual "tries hard for the team" plaudits imo. He's fast, can skin his man and provides excellent defensive cover which is great if you have young fullbacks having a poor game or struggling with a particular opposition player. He's also one of our only genuine wingers. There's no need for pats on the head, he's an excellent squad player whose performances don't diminish because of a lack of gametime or a falling out with the manager. Keep.

I like him as a squad player, as has been mentioned he is very reliable due to his heavy work rate, unlike most wingers who when they're not having a good game offer absolutely nothing (Mirallas and Lookman are examples of this).

I see why managers like him as he will do exactly what they ask of him. I think if we are relying on him as a starter week in, week out though we will not progress to the level we want to be at.

If we’re 1-0 up in the cup Anfield Derby after 80 mins and we’re getting absolutely battered and Sigurdsson is blowing out his backside on the flank, who do you want to bring on to keep the door shut? Lookman Vlasic or Lennon?

Exactly. Some Pro Evo players in here think that there's significantly better options because they bought Angel Di Maria in Master League and keep him on the bench.

You've just re-quoted me on the exact post where I clearly wrote;

I would say (and could be wrong) that if someone suffers a major physical injury then that can prevent them from playing football at a high level again (Blomqvist) whereas if someone has mental issues then this would not prevent them from attaining the same level of ability they have previously reached (Lennon).

Not only have I stated that, 'I could be wrong', I have also commented that if a player suffers a major physical injury (in the case of Blomqvist he suffered a serious knee injury which destroyed 2 seasons) then it was impossible for him to reach the previous footballing level which he attained.

Conversely, due to Lennon (as an example) not having suffered such a major knee injury like Blomqvist, he would 'physically' be capable of reaching his previous level of ability.

Ive not stated or given comparisons of persons who have committed suicide nor those who have suffered and been unable to play any longer. I have merely commented that a physical injury can finish someone's career whilst a mental illness can lead to a recovery as there is no physical damage.

Someone suffers severe physical injury = Cannot play football.
Someone suffers a mental illness = May recover and play football once more.

I have no idea why there is a need for a personal attack on me with such vulgar comments...

Its a factual statement (in my opinion) with a caveat that 'I could be wrong'.

Show me how I'm wrong instead of the rudeness?

Like I said before, stop digging.

Lookman Vlasic or Lennon? You can rely on Lennon to do a job that other wise players in this side can’t do. Equally Lennon shouldn’t be starting as many games at their expense as they have the raw tools to open defences up now.
What if we are 1-0 down?

Yeah important player last night, worked hard and without his imput into the goal would of been a diff result, not sure if it goes down as an assist with it coming back off the keeper, but over the last few weeks he really has played well, great attitude

Played decent enough against Newcastle, and played a big part in our goal. Although it wasn't the strongest of headers, he was involved earlier in the build and knew exactly the space he had to attack to give himself half a chance of a goalscoring opportunity. There's more to his game than just running up and down the wing.

This is what I like most about him. Honest, hard working lad who'll get his head down and put a shift in. One of our better ball carriers and is starting to show his experience at this level.

Quite a few posters criticise him on the basis of this being his only attribute and that he offers little going forward.

Which of course is nonsense. He quite often sacrifices acting as an attacking threat for the team. Yet when asked to, notably under Martinez, he has been far more dangerous. Not to mention his contribution to the goal last night and link up with DCL which led to Siguardson scoring against Huddersfield. Glad he's at the club.
