I won't bite. I don't need to.

You did bite. And you bit hard :D

I have [Poor language removed] loads of cash and a great system. If you can only afford smart price beans, get a PC. It's that simple.

If you have to get the bus to work because you can't afford a car, then get a PC.

I hope to all the gods available for worship that this is in jest. (if this is serious) I would liken you to the native Hawaiians who live off of governement stipends that affords them a Nice Cadillac Escalade with all the options, but live in a wood/metal shack. It's all about the image.......

If there is anything I hate more, it is wasting money. And typically buying an Apple product is just that.

I still say, build your PC, then mod it to run Leopard if you really have to have that OS.

Dude i think you meant to post that in the fit birds thread.

Does anyone know where I can get a starter Mac from and any suggestions.

I'm going to have a go of the Mac Operating System to see what its like.

I'd say get the cheapest one you can really. Unless you want to make films or record an album you'll only need the least powerful one.

As you can see from the thread it's a personal preference about the operating system, give it a go if you know someone who has one, and try doing on it all the things you'd normally do like internet, listening to music. Don't believe the hype, but make sure to try it for yourself before buying.

I use both regularly, pc all the way for moi. And on a mac you have to press control and click for the right click menu! Unless using a pc mouse which defeats the object!

It will run mate, but be prepared for the spinning beach ball every time you do a task.

The lappy is 10 years old running an OS that is the equivalent of Vista/ Windows 7 in the mac world. You'd never get a win lappy that could do that at the same age.

To give your self any hope of the OS being workable, i'd downgrade it to 10.3, it was far less resource hungry than 10.4. Also bear in mind that the OS needs about 512mb of RAM to run, that's without loading any applications. It will work, but I'm just not sure it will be usable mate

If you want to try out OS9 on it, or OS 10.3 gives us a shout and I'll try and find some links for you to download the OS
