A starter Mac

No! I make a comment about an Apple product and they get slated and people goad me. Its like a sport.

PC's are for gaming, office type people, people who think Google is the Internet, and that if you don't have Norton it's like walking bare footed over hot coals.

Mac's are for designers, artists, film makers, music producers - and yes they look good and are stylish to boot.

The operating system is better and always will be. It is innovative, whereas Microsoft is not.

An awful lot of R&D goes into an Apple product, all Microsoft do is spend oodles of cash trying to convince people that they are a PC and that Windows 7 was their idea.

When Microsoft launch a new operating system and it crashes mid presentation - you know there is a problem with the way you write code.

Apple is a simpler cleaner product that lets you get on with what you need to do. Its innovative, has excellent user interfaces, and so on.

What I don't understand is that Microsoft has copied Apple since the 80's and they still can't get it right.

A PC is not Microsoft.

You seem to have skipped over the Linux-based bit.

You're right though. PCs are for idiots that just look at porn and only ever use Google.

Maybe when we're all educated and rich enough we can appreciate the mighty Apple Mac.

Ghost, if you were to fall off your high horse you would be dead before you hit the floor.

Remember the facts, Macs are PC's. They are just shelled together in some ENVIROMENTALLY-UNFRIENDLY plastics gay cases.

The real difference in Macs and PC's is the fact you can't upgrade a Mac and it runs a different OS that has SO FEW PEOPLE USE IT that no one targets it for virus/malware as there IS NO MONEY IN IT.

Oh, and do we really need to pretend that the article I linked to many moons ago about the professional hackers stating that the Macs were the easiest systems to exploit didn't exist?

Mate, but you can't argue with the specs and that's surely that's how you measure the PC no?

I measure it on how effectively it allows me to do my job. You use the tools for the job right? I am more efficient on a Mac, it inspires me to be a better designer. In terms of development I can work quicker on a Mac.

Screen fonts are smoother on a Mac, so design wise I can get the best out of it.

Bottom line is this - Mac's are not for the consumer market, hence why they cost more. I've said this before haven't I?

So basically you ignored basic specs and paid way over the odds for an electronic muse.

Great, great marketing.

I'm not any high horse. I like millions like me use Mac's because they work for us. It's as simple as that. I have used PC's for years - but Mac's are a better fit for me.

Do you honestly believe a billion pound business has been created by a conman? A bit of credit surely.

And I can and have upgraded my Mac, but at the moment I simply don't need to - it runs fine. I'm happy that I don't have to keep upgrading it to keep it inline with the cutting edge. It's nearly 18 month old and I have only had to give it more memory and it still works as sweet as it did 18 months ago.

So basically you can all **** off Apple, couldn't care less - I am happy and it makes me work quicker and more efficiently. Isn't that what a computer is all about?
