7th -> EL what does it take

I'm excited to get back into a European comp. People complain about the fixtures but really it's another competition to win with a spot for the champs league at the end of it. Plus some great games can be had in the knockout rounds. Just need this friggen season to be done then the excitement of upcoming transfer season, then Europe!

The max of 7 European spots for ENG is also a myth. The max is actually 9 (5+4).

The only thing stopping 7th being EL is that mathematically FA cup winner could still finish 8th.

Lars, if Leicester would win the CL 7th would get EL.

This will put healthy pressure on board and on Koeman...and to our squad through out.
 
Anybody know how Man Utd winning Europa League would impact us?

So they'd go to CL, but does that count as an extra European slot, or does it just replace their existing one?

It doesn't impact 7th qualifying for EL. They get CL, but ENG lose their EL spot (lge cup). So ENG would have 5+2.

It may actually mean 7th going straight to EL groups. As EL qualifiers spot should be the place returned to UEFA.

That's what I was hoping. I didn't think it'd mean we'd lose Europa, but I was unsure if it meant we would get a better spot for 7th then.
 
I think European football is so important to us keeping our best players and being able to attract better players.
