70 pts has been the average for fourth over the last five years, I think it may go a bit higher this season but it is within reach. I think 24 out of the 33 available could see us through.

I think fifth is well within reach and an outside chance of fourth.

+1

In fact, I think we have more than "an outside chance" of 4th.

Still plenty of life in this season and given the fixtures those around us have over the next couple weeks, two victories for us against Cardiff and Swansea would throw a completely different light on the league run in.

We're effectively 11 points off 4th with a game in hand (as City are certs for a top 4 finish). Our GD is far worse than both Arsenal and the RS, so that makes it 12 in essence. Even taking the Crystal Palace game as a 'gimme' that'd leave us 9 points off the pace with 10 games left. Not going to happen.

We have a great chance at finishing 5th. Spurs are 5 points ahead of us (having played 2 more games). United are level, but they've played 1 more than us.

United game in hand on Spurs is RS(h). However our 2 games in hand are Cardiff and Swansea. 2 wins are on the cards and we shouldn't taken anything less than 6 points with Spurs and United around us.

Further ahead, thankfully Spurs got through to the next round of the EL, so they've got a home and away tie with Benfica between a difficult game against Arsenal(h) then Southampton(h). Then the RS can do us a favour as Spurs play them(a).

As for United, their following 2 games are West Ham(a) and City(h). So 3 points would be a great couple of weeks for them.

Finally, us. March should be considered 'easy' for us. The fans know it, the players know it and RM knows it. Following the 2 Welsh games, we've got Newcastle(a) and Fulham(a). We've put in decent performances against both of them clubs already this season, so we should be picking up points against them. Even further ahead we've got a fixed April. United and Arsenal at home; Sunderland and Southampton away. This is the month that would decide our finishing position. A good run will see us in Europe, a bad one would seeUnited leap frog us and get that last spot.

No, we are actually eleven points off've 2nd place with a match in hand.

Now, I think Chelsea are going to disappear over the horizon soon and I take your point about Citeh....despite yesterday;s aberation, they should go on to take second place.

In my opinion there are two CL spots up for grabs.

The RS don't look like stopping but you never know....if we beat Cardiff on Saturday and they lose at OT on Sunday suddenly we are eight points behind them with a home game against Palace in hand.

And both Chelsea and Citeh have to play them at Anfield yet.

And then there is Arsenal........a team in freefall, Saturday's result notwithstanding.

Back to back away games at WHL and the Bridge whilst we play the two Welsh teams at home on the next two weekends.......and the Citeh go to the Emirates.

And in April we get the chance to deliver a telling blow on them at Goodison.

No way I am accepting 7th, 6th or 5th place as the best we can do this season.

Heck, I am nit even ruling out 3rd.

It's all there, lads......it's only a matter of belief....;)
