5th is our to lose tbh, we are 5 point behind spurs with 2 game in hand, we play Cardiff this weekend, they play Arsenal away, if we win and they lose we are 2 points behind with 2 games in hand.
Man U are joint on points with us and we have a game in hand, they play Liverpool next weekend plus we have them at home, we can go 3 clear with a game in hand, finishing above utd and doing the double would be a MASSIVE achievement for Martinez

ffs, just seen the draw, knew it was going to happen.

we're going to get pipped to 6th by that ginger weapon right at the death aren't we.

may as well cheer on wigan now.

Our squad is used to finishing strongly. Different manager, but the players themselves have that mentality in them and I think it'll count for a great deal in the next couple of months.

Injury wise we're in reasonable shape as it stands. It's all systems go for a tilt at grabbing 20 points from the last 33 available.

Lets use another example. Deulofeu has the choice to come to Everton who are playing in the prem & Europa or someone the same level as Everton but are not playing in Europe. @4737carlin

Ah but jags is in hamstring trouble and so is Pienaar now. It is still possible though to grab 6th.

really not arsed about europe. how many more fans would be pissed off if we beat some crap eastern european team away on a thurs then get beat by the likes of palace or stoke on the sunday at home think fans on here no that answer.stay out of europe till we can compete properly.

I think the cup winners go straight to the group stage, 5th place equals a qualifier

No , the cup winners go straight to the group stage I think.

From the Premier League website: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/fans/faqs/who-qualifies-to-play-in-europe/
UEFA Europa League
There are three places in the UEFA Europa League available: the FA Cup winners will enter at the Group Stage; the fifth place team in the Barclays Premier League will enter at the Play-Off stage; and the Football League Cup winners will enter at the Q3 stage.

In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

English winners of the UEFA Europa League will enter at the Group Stage, gaining an extra domestic place only if they fail to qualify through other means for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League. If the holders of the UEFA Europa League have already qualified for Europe, no extra domestic place will be gained.

Should the FA Cup winners, runners-up (if applicable) and the Football League Cup winners already have qualified for Europe, their place goes to the next best placed clubs in the Premier League.
