Lets use another example. Deulofeu has the choice to come to Everton who are playing in the prem & Europa or someone the same level as Everton but are not playing in Europe. @4737carlin

think he needs to start showing he deserves to be here first tbh. he's not done a massive amount since he's been here imo.

What would he pick? thats my point. I think a lot of us could see he wouldn't do a lot considering he was out for 2 months mate and considering hes not a prem player

I'm just using him because he is one of our loan players just like I used Lukaku as an example on twitter before

really not arsed about europe. how many more fans would be pissed off if we beat some crap eastern european team away on a thurs then get beat by the likes of palace or stoke on the sunday at home think fans on here no that answer.stay out of europe till we can compete properly.

of course, we will start losing to palace or stoke because we play away in europa - i mean there is extensive evidence to back this up?

Interesting to hear people's thoughts on the difference needed in terms of player recruitment for us qualified and not qualified for the EL, IMHO we would need an additional 3-4 players for a European campaign and still be capable in the league if requalifying via the league as said it's not worth a jot financially and if we drop a few places because of it, it will end up costing us money now back to the original question an should we qualify how are we gonna fund the extra players than what is already needed. It's already been mentioned in this very thread that spurs and UTD being In Europe is an advantage to us and that's taking into consideration their squad compared to ours which almost makes the demand for 5th n 6th laughable. All things need to be considered including our board and a manager who is not totally proven in the transfer market

From the Premier League website: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/fans/faqs/who-qualifies-to-play-in-europe/
UEFA Europa League
There are three places in the UEFA Europa League available: the FA Cup winners will enter at the Group Stage; the fifth place team in the Barclays Premier League will enter at the Play-Off stage; and the Football League Cup winners will enter at the Q3 stage.

In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

English winners of the UEFA Europa League will enter at the Group Stage, gaining an extra domestic place only if they fail to qualify through other means for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League. If the holders of the UEFA Europa League have already qualified for Europe, no extra domestic place will be gained.

Should the FA Cup winners, runners-up (if applicable) and the Football League Cup winners already have qualified for Europe, their place goes to the next best placed clubs in the Premier League.

So its 5th or sod all.

think it would be a joint decision with barca, but yeah i get your point and of course it is correct.

just think he needs to show a bit more to even be considered by us next season, never mind others in europe. he's been okay so far, definite potential, but you buy potential, not loan it.

They battered WBA yest we struggled to a 1 1 they will easily finish above us the question is spurs

you can't ignore the crap games they've done worse to us with.

they've won a few games like that recently and followed it up with a dour result. seems to me they've won one comfortably and followed it by a terrible result like the 2-2 v fulham, 1-0 v stoke, 2-0 v olympiacos etc.

that inconsistency won't put them ahead of us.

Look at our form in past 2 an a half months before judging other teams what we have about 3 league wins all at home all against bottom 6 ish teams

....just the same if we were Champions League, except it could be Wed/Sat. My view is that a club like ours need to be regulars on the European stage. I might have this wrong, but I think we played Europa League the season we finished 4th. I'm fortunate to have been there when we won the Cup Winners Cup, the League and lost an FA Cup Final in the same season. The aim should be European qualification.

i agree, we really should be european regulars if we're consistantly one of the top 7 in the country and england has 7 entries, it's just not happening.

at least with the draw we've had the kick up our arse to say we have to do it ourselves rather than rely on others

and our next three home games are also against that calibre? you can't say united will finish above us because they won a game that we drew.

we won a game against them and have them again at home, season's over 38 games and so far we've done better than them over comparative games when both played the same amount.
