I think if things stay in the status quo, then Biden wins relatively comfortably. Trump won’t get the majority of independents, he won’t get the moderate republicans and despite him releasing some sneakers he won’t get the black and Hispanic vote.

And that’s before the fact he might not even be eligible to run.

If she’s any sense, all the way to the end. If this was the other way around, that’s what Trump would be doing - further cohering a base around him and using it to influence the rest.

10-15% of the GOP electorate being for a candidate come what may is very significant when the electorate itself is divided. The wider party can’t win without those voters, so they have to be listened to. Even if Trump isn’t banged up, drops dead or is otherwise incapacitated she would probably find herself the VP pick just because they couldn’t win without them.

She’d almost certainly have much more respect off him as well, at least compared to the spineless creatures who “ran” in this race as well.

If she had even a lick of sense, Haley wouldn't be a VP for Trump. She must know he'd be an utter catastrophe as president again, she could just take another run in 4 years when people remember why they tuened out in record numbers to vote him out the last time. Why attach yourself to such a calamity?

I agree entirely, but that’s going to be said about any of the other candidates and at least for her she’d be able to say - truthfully - that Trump was forced into it rather than appointing a loser like Collins or DeSantis or one of his mentalists.

I can't see him accepting her as VP unless she ends up doing some MAJOR groveling. He is only going to take an arse kissing yes men/women - and that's true for all cabinet positions, chief of staff, etc.
And no, he doesn't/won't respect her for standing up to him. Look at how he talks about her now and every other person in his former cabinet that did....including his previous VP. Based on what the man says he only respects tyrants and dictators.

She's just laying groundwork for 2028.
The second she went on past New Hampshire, she alienated MAGA.
There's no way Trump picks her.
There's no way Trumps delegates pick her if for some reason they cant pick him.
The only reason she's hanging in is to build a platform for 2028.
McDaniel is stepping down as RNC chair right after super Tuesday so I'd imagine there'll be a mega maga chair appointed and Haley is just getting as much recognition as she can before that.

The only other outside possibility is forming a third party with Liz Cheney. Wont happen this year tho.
