I think Trump wins. People seem to be being overly optimistic about the younger vote and the female vote.

Either way, it'll be a horror show after the election. Trump will want war.

I don’t think it should be any damn business of yours or mine under what circumstances someone makes their own healthcare decisions.

And quite how would you determine if someone met yout particular criteria for “acceptable” or “valid reason”?

But to answer your actual question, by having strict parameters - any risk to the woman's life, any instance of forced sex, any serious birth defect, if the girl is underage.

All 100% valid reasons LL.

LL has already explained why she sees it as an overarching healthcare matter and not just abortion in isolation.

So why the need for such specificity despite that?

I agree. It’s been brought up at the state level many times.

There is also the attempts to overturn the ACA which has huge implications for pregnancy/birth in a safe way (eg getting rid of clauses that protect preexisting conditions during pregnancy)

There is also bans on birth control by your employer if they claim religious exemption (eg you work for a small business for some MAGA clown and he claims religious exemption and denies your coverage).


There have also been changes and proposed changes to Title IX.

There has also been foot-dragging on bills related to domestic assault.

Etc. It is a healthcare (and moral) issue.

There are also cuts and proposed cuts to WIC and SNAP which directly harms moms and children.

Also cuts to the USA’s contribution to the UN’s sexual/reproductive health agency, which funded health care, contraception, awareness campaigns, and combatted genital mutilation.

Even Trump’s tax cuts disproportionately affected women who are sole household earners with children, as women tend to make less than men and don’t benefit from certain high-income tax cuts.

Trump also revoked the Far Pay/safe workplaces act put in by Obama.

Etc.

I mentioned pro-life. I didn't call you a pro-lifer, but I pointed out that your initial argument was strikingly similar to what some of the pro-life crowd employ.

My issue is that something which is a huge decision and source of mental and physical anguish for a lot of women and in some cases the father, has been boiled down by certain camps as; at best a frivolous get-out-of-jail-free scenario and at worse, as JD Vance suggested on his Rogan interview, something to be celebrated.

While it's right that there should be discussion on such a complex and emotive topic, surely you understand that in the context of a US election thread, especially with the current political climate, that suddenly deciding to take umbrage with a females word choice on the subject, is going to rub some people up the wrong way. Especially those who are actually living over in the US who may very well be affected by all of this.
