Current Affairs 2024 POTUS race

Reservations I have are that the much vaunted massive women turn out isn't as massive as suggested/predicted and /or that there's a shy Trump vote that will turn out on the day of the election just like they did in 2016 and 2020.

I do think she'll take Michigan and Pennsylvania though and that should place a huge roadblock across Trump's path to the WH.
I don’t see a way he wins if he doesn’t get PA. It’s the least likely of the Blue Wall states, and if she gets all three, that puts her right at 270 barring any unforeseen surprises.

There was some semblance of sanity during his first term because, even though I didn’t agree with their politics, he largely appointed serious people to his administration who adhered to norms and allowed the guardrails to function as designed. That won’t be the case this time. None of those types of people will be around him this time. All that will matter is loyalty to Dear Leader. A second Trump administration will probably be the likes of RFKjr, Elon Musk, Don Jr, and the MyPillow guy.
Don Jr was heavily involved in his first term, wasn't he? Elon Musk is a fantastic businessman. The MyPillow (pretty unpopular if I remember, Mike something) guy was very vocal in the first election run but hasn't been heard of at all this time round (well, I've followed it closely and haven't once seen his name crop up). RFK Jr I don't know a whole lot about.

Regarding the whole Democrats painting him as a dictator thing, that was very publicly debunked with him tongue-in-cheek saying he would be on day one only. He wouldn't have the power to put any of his political rivals in prison.

He's been charged with some serious crimes and I can certainly say that quite a few of them deserve to go through the justice system, but I can also confidently say that others should never have seen a court room and it was 100% driven by his opponents in an effort to tarnish him and get him out of the race.

The whole recent Nazi thing was despicable, on the back of two assassination attempts as well. He's literally bought by Israel.

I fully believe "undecideds" are Trump voters who won't admit to it.
Sadly I think that might be true.

We had shy Tories here for decades - no one could be found before an election who backed them...they've been in power for all but a handful of years though.

I still think Harris rides the wave of fear into the WH though.

From day one it's always been about Pennsylvania for both candidates. I suppose theoretically Harris can plot a route to the WH without it if she secures the other blue wall states.

I don’t think Don Jr. was that involved in the first administration. Ivanka and her husband were though. MyPillow guy Mike Lindell has probably been too busy lately trying not to lose every dollar he has in defamation lawsuits brought by voting machine companies. The more I hear about RFKjr, the more I become convinced he is actually out of his mind.

Regarding Musk, is he really a fantastic businessman? He bought Twitter for $45B, and after a couple years of his leadership it’s now valued at $10B.

John Kelly is a democrat?
Kelly was the Trump White House’s longest-serving chief of staff, staying from 2017 to 2019. In an interview with The Times, Kelly said that Trump falls into the “general definition of fascist” and called him an authoritarian who admires dictators. Notably, the former four-star general detailed Trump’s fascination with Hitler, saying the former president said on numerous occasions that Hitler “did some good things, too.”

You also seem to have memory holed Jan 6th. Trying to use an armed mob to overturn an election is pretty classic dictator stuff.

Sawing off a whales head and taking it home in the back of his car is one of his less crazy idea on recent evidence.

Others have responded to other points you made, so I'll tackle another two.

1) You agree with his serious crimes being investigated, but not others. Do you think the President of the United States should be someone who has all this litigation surrounding him. I'm not even going into the details here, but sounds like these aren't disqualifying. Fair enough
2) The whole Nazi thing is despicable, but apparently not despicable enough to be disqualifying.
3) And I can't help myself here, but there are multiple people from his first Administration - Republicans - that say he's a fascist, a wannabe dictator, wholly unfit for office, or some mix of all three. These aren't Democrats. The Jan 6 witnesses were almost all in his administration and Republicans.

So I really have no idea what your point is

I dunno - he ran the country pretty well the first time without mass executions and starting nuclear wars which I think was widely suspected to be high up on his agenda. One of the above posters actually conceded that he did a decent job first time round.

I know if I'm a struggling family in the US having seen my disposable income drop over the last four years, it would be impossible for me to vote for a candidate that has run the country hand in hand with the current President, covered up his obvious mental decline and said she would had run the country exactly the same as he has.

That would give me absolutely no faith at all that's she's genuine and even less that she's the person to turn it around and leave me with more money in my pocket.

I feel that is what will ultimately cost her, but let's see.
