He never had it.Apropos nothing; How many times has Trump said Obama when I presume he meant Biden?
Is this deliberate or is he losing it now.

That’s not what I’ve heard.
He never had it.
again from the top with your serious answer - in 2 part harmonyHe’s probably losing it even more these days,
I'm not, its a serious question, some have said it's a dig at Obama as puppet master, though that seems a bit obtuse for Trump.but I’m not sure attacking his mental state is a winning formula given the gaffes/mental blocks Biden demonstrates with regularity.
Re. Obama and terms - is it 3 in total or 3 consecutively? They both really need to step aside but neither will.
He’s already term limited.Re. Obama and terms - is it 3 in total or 3 consecutively?
Ok, thanks for the clarification. He’s already term limited.
A person could technically serve up to ten years if they ascended to the job from the vice-presidency with two years or less remaining before the next election, and then two full terms of their own. But you can only be elected to the office for two, four year terms.
Newsom is jockeying for position in 2028, unless something weird happens in the next couple months. He has a presidential war chest already, and enough name recognition that he can run as a 'former' the way Hillary and Nixon did. I doubt he would try to take down his own appointee in Padilla. He might try to carpetbag a seat like Durbin's, but that does introduce the risk of losing, which would be bad for his 2028 prospects.Gotta wonder what Gavin Newsom is up to, and on a much more speculative note, What's Cuban gonna do with all his new found cash?
Idle speculation, still Biden v trump with a very uncomfortable night guaranteed in Nov 24
Maybe you can help me out here…Why do people like Newsom/think he’s a good leader? Under his watch, California has seen a rise in crime, homelessness, little progress on education, and insignificant healthcare reforms. Add that to the absurd cost of living in the state that’s gotten worse despite the ridiculous state tax rate. He also came across as a little slimy with how he acted above others during the pandemic and some his recent statements about how they only cleaned up San Fransisco because there were world leaders coming to town…Seemed a lot like a “Screw you” to the people that live there. I just don’t get his appeal.Gotta wonder what Gavin Newsom is up to, and on a much more speculative note, What's Cuban gonna do with all his new found cash?

Standard reason people take a shine to leaders these days. Articulate, good at the 140 character game, combative with respect to the other side. That's more or less what Newsom put on display last night. He walked into a hostile arena with a hostile moderator, and got his innings in anyway.Maybe you can help me out here…Why do people like Newsom/think he’s a good leader? Is there any way you see the bolded changing any time soon? There are so many barriers to this changing, I'm not optimistic.Standard reason people take a shine to leaders these days. Reality is that people haven't been looking for the best leader since Clinton, if not Reagan. They've been looking for the person who makes them feel the best. These days, with all the acrimony, they want a verbal combatant. They're shopping for the divorce lawyer who will land the hardest verbal punches during the proceedings. They want to hear someone go to bat for their definition of reality.
The problem is that what a divorce attorney does is the opposite of governing. The Senate requires sixty votes to accomplish anything of substance, and neither side is getting there any time soon. The most extreme House members are such that anything that can get to 218 can't get to 60. If any president is to accomplish anything, the first order of business is finding a way to get both sets of partisan media to turn on the extreme members in the safe House seats who just pander to cable news audiences, and start putting politicians with a legislative agenda front and center on their programs. That's a different skill set than anyone we've ever elected possessed.
Don't get me wrong. There's a place for Bernie in the Senate, but that place is there because of what he stands for. He stands both for the institution of the Senate and his broader principles. What we've seen from the younger extremists in the House (and Senate, to an extent), on both sides, is that they don't stand for the institution. The institution is nothing more than a means to a personal end. There's a difference.
I'm not sure I can help. Probably best fielded by some of the CA posters here like @LinekersLegsMaybe you can help me out here…Why do people like Newsom/think he’s a good leader?
