I’d disagree, think RFK is getting a disproportionate amount of coverage relative to the likely impact on the race. Dems overall tend to be worriers.

If we are talking about possible impacts on the race a far larger one will be weather in the states on voting day - partisans will crawl over broken glass to vote but the marginal voter won’t.

And there is not much you can do about it other than try to get stress early voting for the states that allow it.
Yes.

Voter turnout and the obstacles placed in front of would-be voters to register will have an impact, particularly for the Democrats.

As said yesterday too: I;d keep an eye on how Trump-Vance keep on message in terms of the economic case they've been told to make...and the border issue. The 'cat women' and 'communist Kamala' stuff wont bear fruit. If they have message discipline the Trump campaign can possibly cut through the feelgood momentum Harris and Walz have stirred up.

Think all the strategists (both Dem and GOP) are agreed that Trump and Vance should talk, and only talk, about immigration and inflation to be more effective.

But that is why some of the convention, and general Dem messaging, is to try to needle Trump to go off message and indulge in what he loves - personal attacks. And so far it is working.

He is totally rattled. All the time that stays, Harris get extends her lead.

She has largely consolidated all the 2020 Biden Dems that weren’t going to vote for Biden again.

Work still to be done on non-college voters and independents (hopefully Walz helps) and from turning the younger voters enthusiasm into actual votes - GOTV operations are going to be very important.

As well as allowing time to found out your registration was dropped or any other problems so you have time to fix it.

@RAFUH cross fingers!

Mark Robinson is such a bad candidate, even compared to other recent objectively awful GOP candidates, that he most certainly has a chance of damaging Trump in this election than a down ballot candidate typically can.

It's a reason North Carolina is firmly in play this year

It was reasonable to consider him viable. He'd already won a state wide election as Lt Governor.
But running for Governor was always going to lead to more research into his past.
His financial issues seem to be hurting him as well as more extensive exposure to some of his crazy.
