It’s just nice to see a politician come across as an actual human for once. It’s been a while since we’ve had that so it’s very refreshing to see.

I don’t actually think he should be VP. I have no idea about his politics but he has basically explained why he would be a bad pick in terms of polling. This is unlikely to be an election for the best person but rather for the right person. Same reasons Mayor Pete won’t be considered as VP.

But it’s that kind of attitude that would really disarm Trump. Being that self aware and comfortable would mean you could just bat off his pathetic attacks and go back at him with things that really matter.

He’s my Governor, and he’s not terrible. He would not be a good choice though…Colorado isn’t at risk, and he’s not exactly handled some of the issues like homelessness, cost of living, and drug abuse superbly. Wouldn’t pull the centrist votes needed by Harris.

Is the Democratic calculation now that they expect to lose the WH but less of their candidates 'down ballot' will lose their races in the senate / house than if Biden continued to soldier on?

That's the only reason I can see for allowing a frankly flawed candidate like Harris to go forward.

I think you're giving Trump way too much credit. He's really not a great debater and will likely try to pull out of any remaining debates. He stands to win nothing by going head to head with anyone other than an 81 year old Joe Biden.

Harris's previous career as a prosecutor is pretty much perfect preparation for politics.

Trump will look like the buffoon he is to undecideds and non-cult moderates.

He’ll debate if he starts seeing the polls shift the other direction. If he maintains his lead, he’s not going anywhere near a debate now that he has a baked in excuse. There’s not as much low hanging fruit with Harris as there was Biden, and if he attacks her like he did Biden, it will not be received well.

The Biden presidency isn't miring anyone. He was, by almost every metric they use for these things, a good president. Harris would be better served attaching herself to its successes, many of which she was probably directly involved with anyway. There are defo other candidates that look better to me, but there is not a single doubt in my mind Kamala is going to be the next president of the USA

She has a shot. The campaign cash you point out will guarantee that but it's dwarfed by Trump's war chest, so her campaign team will have to be pretty savvy how they target Trump and on what platforms.

That's the intent. But the likelihood is they aren't in aa position to as it stands. They'll want to avoid a complete Republican landslide and that's why Biden was forced out.
