Tulsi is anti-conflict, hence the Russians liking her (she attempted peace talks with Assad, which is interpreted as "cosying up" by hawkish US folk).

And they're not trolls, they're people. NBC is hardly trustworthy itself.

It looks to me that Tulsi has rattled something within the pro-establishment ranks, including the commentariat.

Interesting to observe.
lol yep those anti conflict Russians...

As I say I don’t believe Tulsi has rattled anyone (other than a fine upper cut to Harris in the last debate) but suspect she might just squeeze into next months debate so she’ll probably have at least one more chance to prove me wrong!

Who's your favoured candidate to beat the Donald, legs?

Being realistic, i'd have to go Bernie myself. I think he'd be very positive for US and the world, and according to the feedback from his Joe Rogan appearance some Republicans are learning to like him too.

I thought Clinton was going to beat Trump so I’ve retired from the prediction business, I just hope someone does!

Sanders, yes. Gabbard, not even close.

If anything, Gabbard is the 'establishment's' preferred type of anti-establishment candidate, in that her presence helps legitmise the proceedings without actually threatening anyone's money and power.

“Anti conflict so the Russians like her”. We’ve definitely passed into parody now.

And re: Assad... Forgive me, I thought things like “peace talks” were best conducted by the State Department as part of a carefully planned strategy, rather than by a fairly junior congresswoman from Hawaii.

As has been said, no one is rattled by Gabbard - you have to be remotely relevant to rattle people, and she never has been, at any stage in the race.

Much like others have highlighted, she’s done a really substandard job of getting her message out there, despite ample opportunities.

The people who post in this thread are likely to be far more politically engaged than the general public at large, and multiple people here have said they have no idea what the key issue of her candidate is. That is a complete failing in terms of how her campaign has been run.

who's your favoured candidate, birk?
Warren by a decent margin. A policy platform that is impressive in both its breadth and depth, and a compelling story to hang it all from. The things she believes in and espouses she has spent basically an entire career either teaching or pushing for. She's also a living, breathing example of the benefits of a strong public support platform.

She's been strong at both debates and on the CNN Town Hall on the environment. The fact that she's adopted Inslee's climate plan (with a few extra provisions of her own) shows what a smart campaign she's running.

She's also shown a willingness to go head to head with Trump without letting it define her campaign.

Oh, but but but Pocohontas!!

Yeah... no one who even has a shade of a chance of voting Democratic will be in the least bit moved by that. If anything, it'll be an asset, due to people's urge to stick it to Trump

As you know, I'm a warren fan but in the interest of fairness I'll share the few concerns I have.
Firstly, she might be laying the 'folksy' on a bit thick. She didn't really do that while campaigning in Mass and it's a bit jarring. Still, benefit of the doubt, she probably knows what she's doing.
The second thing that bothers me is her answer on ranked choice voting. She said something like she doesn't know much about it and would have to look in to it more. The reason this concerns me is that for the last however many years, she has lived in Cambridge. For a long time Cambridge was the only city in the US with ranked choice voting. It still has ranked choice voting, has she never voted in local elections?
How hard would it have been to say 'I know all about it, I've been using it for 20 years'.
It's a small thing but I just don't get it.

Yeah that ranked choice thing is odd. Can’t say I have much info there, so I’ll just take a pass and leave it at odd.

on the folksy bit, it’s interesting, because I was listening to David Axelrod and [a Republican strategist whose name escapes me] on Monday’s episode of PSA and they were both saying she needs to do a little MORE of that side of things... I guess that’s a lot down to personal taste. But I guess id say it probably jarrs a little with those who are more politically engaged, as they/we probably feel like we don’t NEED that to be convinced by her - those who pay a little LESS attention may connect more on a personal leve, which that might help?

oh god, not more folksy...
New Hampshire is going to be interesting. Biden will come third there, the big question is who will come first and second.
