Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, announced on Thursday that he is running for president — the newest name in a still-growing 2020 field of Democratic candidates that boasts more than a baker's dozen.

Ryan, who made the announcement on the web just before appeared on ABC's daytime talk show "The View" to discuss his candidacy, will hold an official campaign kickoff rally with local union leaders in Youngstown, Ohio, on Saturday afternoon, his campaign said — a celebration of his longstanding ties with the working class community and an indication of the kind of labor-friendly campaign he plans to wage.

Its getting ridiculous now.

What a waste of money this will be for donors and a waste of energy for those helping him.

That being said about many of the other candidates

I agree that it is a deliberate decision but still think it the wrong one, especially as it makes his comments about feeling badly about making anyone uncomfortable look utterly insincere.

It's time for Biden and Sanders to take a back seat, an advisory role. Both have been great servants to their country but America doesn't need a president in their late 70's.

It is an incredibly demanding job and I certainly feel very uncomfortable having someone that age do it as even mild mental decline which is common at that age, even in someone currently apparently healthy, could have profound consequences.

Biden lol

Doesn't stand a chance

Yes he's part of the Obama/Hillary wing on the democratic party but he's good at a couple things. Campaigning in small towns that dems (especially Hillary) don't carry (which hurts Sanders who did well there) and taking on fake bullies like Trump. Plus Wall Street likes him and wouldn't mind throwing their money at him over Trump (they fear Warren/Sanders). Biden would get ripped apart by any dad republician like Bush 1 or Romney but against Trump he matches up well.

If Biden snags Warren's support (who even though lies politically w/ Sanders, she's also a senator and therefore will probably not risking antoganize who she thinks will win) cancel the primaries, its over.

Also keep in mind many of the states that pretty much go Dem in national elections are yes democrats but they aren't liberal. Just look at the 2 biggest "liberal" states in the union Cali and NY. For generations they've been voting in some real @#$%bags like Feinstein, Cuomo and Schumer and any primary challenge they've faced from more liberal dems they squashed. Sanders in the last primary won all the places that usually just vote Republician.

This is why the two party system is flawed in the US. They essentially just soak up other groups who may differ from them. Like the tea baggers on the right and well Bernie Sanders types.

Both the left and right could do with splitting. They have too many dividers in both parties. This causes rifts and division and we end up with presidential elections like the last one.

Anyone who doesn't think the right also lost in that election is kidding themselves.

Proper conservatives have seen their party change and if its about "winning" and getting one over on libtards well i would suggest who ever agrees with that drank the Kool aid.

I don’t know if Sanders is just being curmudgeonly or there really is something fishy in his 2007 tax report that he is trying to hide but I don’t think it tenable to complain about Trump not releasing his tax returns without being upfront about your own - Bernie has had plenty of time to get his organised and avoid this as an issue as other candidates such as Warren, Klobochar, Gillibrand, Inslee etc have.

I think it’ll just show he’s worth quite a bit which makes his shtick harder to sell.
