Not sure what it's like in the rest of the country but in my part of London A and E s are being closed on a massive scale

How many have ben reported......

Dunno.

Seems to me, you ask anyone who has actually needed the NHS, (not A&E, rarely are folk in there either imo; Mrs R does the paperwork for them), they say its ace.

My ex Father in Law had a heart attack on a Thursday, back home on Saturday with full back up care, after a double bypass op.

Its plainly crap.

He's thinking of making a comeback, looking forward to seeing how that works out........

I did briefly hope that the outcome of Brexit would be a grand coalition between him, the PLP, the Cameroons and the Lib Dems (at one stage there were informal discussions between them all); the chance to boot the whole lot of them out at once would have been glorious.

Yeah, I took my granddaughter to A&E about two months ago, straight in, diagnosed, medicines sorted and out within the hour.....bleeding disgrace.........

Even if they wanted to, which they dont.

Why do you think the tories don't want a private health care system? Do you believe they naturally have socialist democratic leanings when it comes to health? Do you not think that they would prefer a smaller state, lower taxes and compulsory private insurance?

"Massive scale"

Like how many, where, and what is being done to replace them?

In my area out of 6 hospitals with A and E s it is planned that this will be "rationalised" down to 2. And as well as the A and Es going some if the hospitals left will become little more than mini health centres.

There are big campaigns going on but I doubt they will be successful in preventing it.

Happening in other parts of the country too and going to be an increasing part of the future.

There are huge differences between trusts. My local is St Thomas' in Lambeth and it is like the one you describe - appointments are quick, on time, actually effective at dealing with the problem and you always get an appropriate amount of time with someone who knows what they are doing. The buildings are spotless and the equipment new. IIRC it also has no PFI debt, which probably explains the things that went before it.
