Farage, had nothing to do with this general election. I too believe that he should be utilised, correctly, in our negotiations.....
Yeah Pete wheeling out the fella who did literally nothing else for his £250k MEP salary but poke the EU in the ribs at every available opportunity would be a great choice for the most important negotiations in our modern history ffs.

But he kinda was. Labour did lose.
The loser was the woman who called an unnecessary election in order to bolster her overall majority of 17 to effectively silence those within her own ranks who opposed her hard Brexit push, and ended up with no majority and relying on terrorist sympathising, religious cranks in order to try and cling to power.

Orange Order asks DUP to use Drumcree march in talks with May

Supporters of the DUP are demanding Theresa May allow a banned loyalist march as part of an agreement by the Northern Irish party to prop up a minority Conservative government.

The Portadown Loyal Orange Lodge (LOL), who are currently prevented from marching in the flashpoint Garvaghy Road in following a long history of sectarian violence, have put out a statement amid speculation as to what concessions the DUP could demand in return for striking a deal with the Tories.

Orangemen were banned from marching through the nationalist area of the mainly loyalist town 20 years ago following repeated riots during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Protests against the ban culminated in 1998 with the shocking murders of three young boys after their house was firebombed in a loyalist arson attack.

The boys’ mother was Catholic and the family lived in a mainly Protestant area. The brothers – Richard, Mark and Jason Quinn, aged 11, 9 and 7, were asleep when a petrol bomb was thrown through the window of their house.

The statement on Twitter congratulates the Orange Order’s “fellow Brother” David Simpson, the MP for Upper Bann, known for strident religious views including a belief in creationism, for his newfound place at the centre of mainstream British politics.

“Portadown District LOL notes the outcome of the recent general election with interest. We would like to congratulate fellow Bro. David Simpson and all the other unionist representatives," it said.

“We note the invitation from the Prime Minister to the DUP to support her government. We trust that the parading issue especially in Portadown will be high on the agenda for the new Government.

“It is clear that the endeavour of the orange family to maximise the unionist vote paid dividends and consequently the DUP has been given the opportunity and responsibility to deliver for the people of Northern Ireland. We trust that they are successful in promoting the values of the Unionist People and the Orange fraternity. We wish them well in the weeks and months that lie ahead.”

It concludes, in block capitals: “HERE WE STAND WE CAN DO NO OTHER.”

no chance, tories arent that stupid

DUP will ask for all sorts and get very little

Way too much been banded about the DUP, they will get cash and help with actual infrastructure projects. If you listened to the left wing news or people on here you would swear we will be forced to talk like Ian Paisley, stop women's rights and start marching.

No chance of them holding a government to ransom when it's so fragile that anything controversial will kill it dead anyhow.

An IT firm in Watford sent staff an email warning “Labour voters would be made redundant first” on polling day, GMB has revealed.

An email seemingly sent by John Brooker, Managing Director of Watford based Storm Technologies Ltd, has come to light which was sent to his staff on Thursday.

The email, sent to everyone in the company, started with the hope staff had exercised their right to elect a chosen candidate or party before telling them to vote Conservative if they believed in free enterprise and progression without being taxed out of the game.

The email follows up with a direct threat to employees and how they should vote: “If by any chance Labour win, we’ll have to re-think a few things here at the company so if you value your job and want to hold onto your hard earned money vote Conservative.

“Labour voters will be made redundant first if Labour do win and things slow down……….”

Storm Technologies has recently been accepted as IT suppliers of Hardware, Software and Technology Services under the new Crown Commercial Services Agreement enabling them to be a Public Services IT reseller.

Warren Kenny, GMB London region secretary, said: “It is unacceptable and morally and ethically wrong for a company director to tell his staff that ‘Labour voters will be made redundant first if Labour do win’.

“A boss should not be harassing employees or interfering with their right to vote for who they wish – it’s Dickensian, workhouse nonsense.

“Any staff working for John Brooker should be have been able to vote for their candidate or party of choice without fear for their jobs and their livelihoods.”

“If you want to see an example of kind of oppressive working environment seven years of Tory rule has created – this is it.”

Conservative candidate Richard Harrington held on to the Watford seat, with Labour's Chris Ostrowski 2,000 votes behind.
