Read what I said - the Tories don't give a crap about Knowsley because Knowsley gives them no reason to give a crap politically.

If the seat actually mattered or even if it was just a few thousand as a majority, it'd result in the government of either party giving it attention - it certainly wouldn't be completely without a sixth form college, for example.
So you're voting for them as some sort of SOS signal?

I suggest you read up on managed decline

The Tories do not care about deprived areas and that is the reason people in those deprived areas don't vote Tory.

I worked in LG all my life moving around for positive promotion - any government who is in either side Tory or Labour starve the opposing polictical party of funds running the council =fact - I worked for four LG authorities - best one was a coalition of Labour, and liberals with a Labour government in power!
so you are correct Knowsley being labour will face more cuts than a tory council;)

Labour, even when in power, has done absolutely nothing to benefit the area in which I live, and the areas status as a safe Labour seat has done nothing but harm Knowsley, which experienced cuts of over £760 per household compared to an average cut of £68 in Tory strongholds. I don't like the Tories for doing it, but I can politically see why they have no reason not to.

So from a purely strategic point of view, Kirkby and Knowsley would benefit from making the place a swing seat that has political value. Even if it had some pressure on it, it'd kick Labour up the arse locally into doing something rather than nothing.

You say a scouser voting Tory is like a turkey voting for Christmas; on the contrary, I see Kirkby voting Labour every single election and seeing the place literally die before their eyes means those votes are more akin to it.

1. You say you would rather Knowsley was a swing seat to get some traction from the Tories, yet you acknowledge that the Tories have inflicted awful cuts on the town. Why on earth would anyone vote for them? Do you believe that people think "The Tories treated us like garbage - it must be our fault, let's vote for them". Proper victim complex stuff.

2. You say that voting Tory would "kick Labour up the arse" into doing something locally, yet you accept that the reason for the savage local cuts derives from central government (which has in the last 15 years been Tory and before then, New Labour govts). I think we can all agree that Corbyn is the one leader in the last decade who is genuinely passionate about helping deprived and poorer communities and would reverse these cuts. The bedrock of his campaign has been arguing against austerity and cuts. So, why do you think Corbyn needs a kick up the arse in this sense?

It seems a very inconsistent logic, Tubey.

Agreed, but the trouble is, the Labour strongholds are the communities which really need the money. The Tory strongholds are more often than not affluent places anyway.

I am afraid party politics do not allow for common sense, Glad I am pensioned off now tbh every march was a meeting to see if your budget was safe or cut to the bone - or if I had to deploy staff elsewhere they say the private sectors hard - I had to run my department to account for every penny - we all worked as hard as it was our own business to maintain our jobs - probably caused my ill health tbh!
missed it like hell at first now realise I made the right decision never got my full pension, but your health is more important as I am now learning than money!

ha

Your stress caused your ill health so you vote for a government that deliberately ostracises middle management

Good on big JC for telling a publication that is banned on this site that he's going "to use the Queen’s Speech as his first opportunity to topple the floundering PM."

From the article: He reckons there is enough opposition, including on May's side, to shoot down this government/coalition.

Tops off, cans out for Corbyn and time to blast Red Flag, comrades.

Did he personally set out to shaft you Joe?
His henchmen did then he took over, when a council top auditor quoted to me the best place for him was under a bus - I knew my time was up fought the Bs through 7 years of litigation via my trade union which I still belong too!
so never say I am a tory ok!!
