It wasn't aimed at you directly at all mate.

It was aimed at Anyone that voted Tory, knowing that they were trying to bring this policy in. In fact it's worse if they didn't know because it means they didn't do their research

You know I despise your political views but I don't have anything personal against you, same as @peteblue, I know you're both good men who do what's right for yourselves and your families in your opinion.

I respect you both more than anyone who didn't bother themselves to vote that's for sure.

Well, if it were aimed at me, I voted against Labour because the local MP has done nothing for this community in decades, was so arrogant that he didn't even post leaflets around the neighbourhood as far as I can tell, and because my vote counted for nothing given it's the safest Labour seat in the country.

Above all, it's against Corbyn.

If you want to associate that reasoning with approving women signing benefit forms for children conceived via rape or fox hunting or anything else, then that to me points at your inability to see beyond black and white and appreciate there are various shades of grey.

It's funny how you're all falling over yourselves to defend what you voted for

There's a world outside GOT

The same thing I said to Roy applies to you, if you choose to take offence perhaps visit your own conscience.

To be honest, it'd be nice if this election prodded both Tory and Labour back towards the middle ground, but weirdly enough I'm more confident of that happening with the Tories than Labour.
The tories have to go centrist now, Soubry et al can't wait. This has given labour a confidence that people want a socialist manifesto and government

It's going to be interesting.

And to repeat what Roydo said, YAWN

I'm not offended by anything except your holier than thou attempt to put everyone in a neat box.

It's been a funny election as the Tories have done better in the stereotypical Brexit areas, ie smaller towns full of 'left behinds', with Labour gaining round in the more remain areas, ie well educated urbanites. It's almost been a role reversal, with Tories hoovering up some working class support, and Labour hoovering up some middle class support.

The thing is ive actually got a lot of respect for Roydo, he explained why he voted clearly and maybe I'm the one in the wrong but I don't hold people who aren't scouse to the same standards as I do scousers, I've not lived their lives in their areas.

A Scouser voting Tory, for me, is basically a turkey voting for Christmas,

Just in case you didn't know, you're in bed with Nadine Dorries.

Labour have won big in uni towns, but have also taken back a lot of ukip votes which I found weird.

All we need is Ruth Davidson to jib the tories up north after their DUP agreement and it gets very interesting very quickly

And you confirm what I've just said. Sound.

Believe I'm in the same "bed" as Dorries, Pickles, Hopkins etc. if it makes you happy, but it really does say more about you than me.

I only mentioned Dorries, that's because she is supposedly a scouser who votes Tory.

I like you as a poster, but Jesus Christ lad please think about what you are doing

I can only see a Tory loss next time round. Parties usually have a shelf life after which people are ready for a change, and assuming they last the course, that'll be 12 years in office. Brexit will also begin to bite so it seems inevitable that change will come. I'd love that change to be in a liberal direction, but I'm not at all confident that will even be an option.

I have. Extensively. And Labour, even when in power, has done absolutely nothing to benefit the area in which I live, and the areas status as a safe Labour seat has done nothing but harm Knowsley, which experienced cuts of over £760 per household compared to an average cut of £68 in Tory strongholds. I don't like the Tories for doing it, but I can politically see why they have no reason not to.

So from a purely strategic point of view, Kirkby and Knowsley would benefit from making the place a swing seat that has political value. Even if it had some pressure on it, it'd kick Labour up the arse locally into doing something rather than nothing.

You say a scouser voting Tory is like a turkey voting for Christmas; on the contrary, I see Kirkby voting Labour every single election and seeing the place literally die before their eyes means those votes are more akin to it.

I just hope the wave that Corbyn is currently riding doesn't dissipate by the time of the next election, it's in Labours interest to try and force an election within 6 months, whilst the youth are still engaged.

And you think, genuinely that a Tory government cares about Knowsley!?

Labour locally cannot do anything because of the cuts coming from central government, what do you want them to do!?

Read what I said - the Tories don't give a crap about Knowsley because Knowsley gives them no reason to give a crap politically.

If the seat actually mattered or even if it was just a few thousand as a majority, it'd result in the government of either party giving it attention - it certainly wouldn't be completely without a sixth form college, for example.
