The electorate was 46 million strong - the people - 13 million voted for the Tories, roughly 26% of the registered adult population.
Yet still got more than Labour, therefore how could Labour claim to represent the majority of people? Don't get me wrong the entire situation utterly stinks, but I think it's dangerous language from Corbyn that plays to the whole millennial mindset that they should win everything.

You said this,

"Has anyone reminded Corbyn he lost yet? All this talk of how the Tories should step aside and let him exert 'the will of the people' is utterly crackers".

The Tories should step aside as they too don't exert 'the will of the people' so don't represent the majority.

After the 1974 the Queen invited Ted Heath to form a government even though Labour had more seats. The Monarchy played a very dangerous game with democracy in this country, by going against the 'will of the people'.

Heard a good joke last night Corbyn could form a government if he got every party except the UDP and the Tories - Just persuade Sinne Feign to come to parliment - with his past IRA publicised contacts it should be a doddle knowing Gerry Adams so well in the past etclol

They got more of the vote share and many more seats. They represent the will of the people as thus.

It's like claiming 48% of people voted for not leaving the EU, so we shouldn't leave to respect the will of the people. It doesn't make sense - a result is a result.

What you are meaning to say is that the political wind has gone one way, but not to the definitive extent to win an election.

Who are the UDP?

As for Gerry Adams, he never was in the IRA Joe. Nor has he ever even set foot in London before. Nor does he have a beard.
