I'm surprised that the Tories have aligned with them to be honest. It is a serious political gamble to align to a terrorist backed party whose advocates murdered a man in a Tesco car park 2 weeks ago.

Add in their views on gay blood and the RHI scandal and it's going to be quite a marriage indeed.

Gerry Adams must be salivating.

Gonna be short lived anyrate.

Let's be absolutely clear here lads. There is no working majority, there will be no working coalition with the DUP.

May is only there because the tories didn't have a fall back plan.

This government will last until October. Brexit can't happen currently

People at work have been shocked by what the DUP stands for, after they searched on the internet. 'They're like a throw back to the 1970s' said one wit. It is going to be a right eye opener to some people in Britain. Have had to explain a lot today about Northern Ireland.
appears they're not forming a coalition per 're. just a vote here and there when needed

The DUP got 36.1% and UUP got 10.3% and TUV got 0.3% and Hermon got 1.1%.

So that's actually a unionist vote of almost 49%. It was a vast increase on March Assembly Election. But we're in this cycle where it will probably spark a nationalist reaction, followed by a unionist one, and so on so on so......

she would have got in bed with whoever to save her skin. immoral she is

I believe the total Unionist vote added together came to 41.7% yesterday.

Not my backyard, but that coupled with the last NI Assembly elections suggests they speak now for a clear minority over there and have no right to speak for those six counties much less the whole of the UK in any Brexit talks.

The situation is crazy. The tail wagging the dog.

Conbined Unionist vote was actually very nearly 49%.

It makes no sense to me on a lot of grounds. The DUP also oppose the Tories on a number of social and economic issues and have only the union and Brexit in common.

Obviously the DUP are going to demand their pound of flesh from May. What that will be God only knows....hopefully not tinkering with the terms of the Good Friday agreement.
