....I'm not letting this drop, by the way.

I'll keep on pointing out the cadaverous old get's lamentable social attitudes and political cowardice. More competent than Corbyn? Don't make me laugh.

You carry on Clint.

Then lets see how many people agree or disagree in a few weeks time.

That will just be a test of her electoral prowess, and not an especially meaningful one given the overwhelming support she has from almost all the papers.

A rather more meaningful decision over her competence will come if she wins and what she does with the five years afterwards. I bet you we are in a worse state afterwards.

... which, after a cathartic cleansing at the top of the Labour Party, will be when real opposition in this country actually takes shape. Cannot wait for it.

Why, will that make me wrong? All of those things I posted were facts. Of course, May is getting a free pass in the press (and the Beeb, tbh) whilst Corbyn is the victim of a constant smear campaign so the deck is completely stacked against the little guy and in favour of Murdoch, Rothermere, Lebedev, Richard Desmond and all those other billionaires and corporations so I guess that's okay then.

£500 billion was 'created' to give to the banks and it has been claimed a 'success' and didn't bankrupt the country or the economy. Imagine if a new government 'created' another £500 billion to invest in industry and build council/government houses, bungalows and flats for those on minimum wage as well as invest in the NHS.

Just while we are on 'facts', here's the racism the lady who could end up being the Home Secretary / Health Sec thinks is fit for someone in a public office to spout;

Comments on race[edit]
In 1988, Abbott claimed at a black studies conference in Philadelphia that "the British invented racism."[59]

In 1996, Abbott was criticised after she claimed that at her local hospital "blonde, blue-eyed Finnish girls" were unsuitable as nurses because they had "never met a black person before".[60] Abbott's apology came as Marc Wadsworth, executive member of the Anti-Racist Alliance, who is half-Finnish, pointed out that the current Miss Finland, Lola Odusoga, is black, of Nigerian and Finnish descent. "She's a black Finn like me," he said. Abbott's position was supported by fellow Labour MP Bernie Grant: "Bringing someone here from Finland who has never seen a black person before and expecting them to have to have some empathy with black people is nonsense. Scandinavian people don't know black people—they probably don't know how to take their temperature".[61][62]

On 4 January 2012, Abbott tweeted that: "White people love playing 'divide and rule' We should not play their game", which again led to widespread criticism including accusations of racism.[63] Only after being told by the Labour Party leadership that the comment was unacceptable did she apologise for "any offence caused", claiming that she had not intended to "make generalisations about white people".[64][65] The Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg called her comments a "stupid and crass generalisation". Nadhim Zahawi, Conservative MP, said: "This is racism. If this was a white member of Parliament saying that all black people want to do bad things to us he would have resigned within the hour or been sacked."[66] Members of the public lodged complaints but the Metropolitan Police stated that no investigation would be launched and no charges would be brought against her, saying she "did not commit a criminal offence."[67]

In January 2012 Abbott suggested that taxi drivers discriminate on racial grounds, tweeting that she was "Dubious of black people claiming they’ve never experienced racism. Ever tried hailing a taxi I always wonder?"[68]

In a Guardian article in February 2017, Abbott wrote about receiving racist and sexist abuse online every day.[69] Soon afterwards, in an interview with Sophy Ridge on Sky News, Abbott proposed a parliament
ary inquiry into the sexual and racist abuse of MPs in social media and the way Twitter and Facebook investigate cases which arise.[70]

That would be "bailing out the poor," though. As it is, only the rich are allowed to be bailed out (Socialism for the Rich!!). And yet they're ahead in the polls. The world has truly gone mad.

Not really, it made perfect sense and you've got nothing but a yah-boo response; generally the default position of Corbyn supporters, strangely enough. All aggression, no substance.

I wouldn't say so. Not sure why Corbyn supporters are seen as been aggressive.

Didn't the 'competent' May say there was no need for an election? And didn't her Chancellor put a budget that would tax the self employed more but decided to drop it. Highly stupid and incompetent these Tories who can't even think though their own ideas and policies. The supine media give them a free pass as they think the same as them.

When did I say you were wrong mate?

All I alluded to was that I heard Corbyn going on about a bank, and that wont get folk legging it to a polling station. If you think its the central issue to decide the GE, fine. I happen to think it wont be. It will be Brexit. How it will be delivered. Nowt else. And to me, Corbyn looks clueless on that. TBF, not that much worse than May.

I doubt also that most will either look at, or give a stuff about Mays voting record.

Well, perhaps if the treacherous Blairites didn't refuse to serve under a democratically elected leader, we wouldn't have to worry about Ms Abbott*.

*Who, by the way, is the routine victim of the most appalling racism. Something you don't seem that arsed about.

Her ducking out of the TV debates under the premise of not wanting to turn the election into a presidential election is the latest in a long, long line of disingenuous comments from the sound bite loving, suit full of nothing, that is Theresa May

Funny how not one of the media questions these polls that say the 'Tories are way ahead' but will question other polls that they don't like. Odd really, considering 'polls' have been rubbished by the last two elections but the 'Corbyn wont get elected' poll is always accurate.
