It's as simple as this:

Seems like a decent idea to me. Don't see why you're being so sniffy. Maybe he should be proposing a major war or demand a cull of poor people to ease the national debt.

Not being sniffy. Just saying what I heard him say.

The idea actually has legs imo, but in the context of a GE, cant see many folk getting swayed by a new bank.

He's got 50 days until the election.

Proposing another bank - which would be a fairly complex project at the best of times - when it remains a toxic subject is foolhardy. What's his best example if he wants to simplify it for people - the Co-Op?

Then you've got the fact that this bank will be 'fairer' and less in the grip of greed / the sins that brought the economy low last time. So they will pay less, little or no bonuses. Fact is, you'll get less quality staff in these banks and they will be inefficient institutions - HMRC a living, breathing example of this.

Blah, blah, blah.....

That was quite an impressive load of old nothing. Well done.

Just listened to a bit of Corbyn just now.

His big idea seems to be a Government investment bank to lend money to companies. Only a clip, but hardly got me racing to the polling station if I am honest.
Let's borrow half a trillion more will,be in that bank - not cut the foreign aid budget or leave the EU in positive mode to trade world wide, and strike a deal - I have yet to hear what the Labour Party negotiations for the EU will be?
The Lib Dems warn us to vote on any deal sorry can't remember agreeing to how much Ted Heat paid to join the ECC the common market prices in the UK soared as the Germans , and the French in the common agriculture policy took us for mugs!
The first time the public vote to leave the EU the Lib Dems want another vote on the settlement complete jokers they are, that's what good politicians get paid for!
You cannot just stay 100 percent in the single market and not be a member of the EU they need to gen up!
We could negotiate a different favourable trade deal totally different as we can then also trade worldwide!
And control, our own affairs and borders
SNP why are the infatuated with the EU why they trade more with the UK?

He should run on nationalised energy after all us poor sods have just been hit by insane energy bills.

Things Theresa May has done that Corbyn hasn't:

  • Voted against repeal of Section 28
  • Voted against gay couples jointly adopting children
  • Voted for Benefit Capping
  • Voted for illegal Iraq War
  • Voted for bombing of Syria
  • Championed UK withdrawal from European Convention on Human Rights
  • Voted for Bedroom Tax
  • Voted against equalising of Age of Consent
  • Ducked out of Brexit debate (much more than Corbyn) before June 23 2016
  • Championed the "Snoopers' Charter"
  • Ducked out of Live TV debates for GE17

The woman is as repulsive as they come. She has to go.

....I'm not letting this drop, by the way.

I'll keep on pointing out the cadaverous old get's lamentable social attitudes and political cowardice. More competent than Corbyn? Don't make me laugh.

Exactly.

The wrong time for a half-baked idea like this.

The Labour Party have been on election footing for months - surely the manifesto will be out by the end of the week? Get a start on the Tories and let's get going.

I agree all these things are awful, but...regular swing/tories voters really won't be That bothered about them and these are the people labour can't get to vote for them and pretty much decide elections
