£7.50 x 40 hours x 52 weeks = £15,600
In the 3 full time jobs i've had they've been for 35 hours.

35 hour contratcts are common place in the uk for full time workers.

To use an annual salary based 40 hours per week as minimun wage is just pure BS mate.

When I was managing some contractors over Xmas, I didn't realise they were on zero hours.
It was only when one lad worked 43 out of 48 hours and he nearly died after collapsing I realised what was going on.
He was banking up worked hours to get some time off for a holiday.
As someone who has been employed full time since I left school virtually I found this amazing.

Just checked the odds on our constituency.
Conservatives 1/200.

As neither myself or the wife have voted yet, and it's pissing down.. And I'd only bother when taking the dog out for a walk and to take his photo , not sure I can be arsed.

100% correct.
Illegal I assumed ?

Holy Cow!

Would have thought so, if he was forced to do it. If he wanted to, well, up to him I guess, but that said, if the only way to have some time off, (when he won get paid), then he is effectively being forced isnt he?

Same in my job really. Technically self employed, sort of, so if I dont fancy it one day, nowt they can do. But only one company deliver parcels to me, so the power is theirs.

But unlike the bloke you came across, it suits me the missus.

Ive changed my role myself recently.
I was struggling, i sent pm to biggyrat actually and he gave me some sound advice.
Two very quick promotions and massive pay rises were great. The hours and pressure were making me ill.
I luckily spotted it. The lads I talk about on the zero hours are phoned up constantly by their bosses and asked to do extra shifts.
The pressure that is applied, is done on the sly. Sort of 'if you don't help us out today, we won't give you hours next week ' sort of thing.
Zero hours contracts need looking at, sensibly.
