First time I've bothered to vote but going for labour tomorrow, Corbyn's not perfect but May is surely unelectable, crap home sec and typical silver spoon Tory out of touch.
How old are you?

Always use your vote. I don't care who anyone votes for as long as they use it. I have only failed to vote once as I was on holiday and was too ignorant to know about postal voting at the time. People died to give us the right to vote so it the least we can do as it only takes a few minutes to go to the polling station and queue up.

Even for the Mail this is a bit much

You knew it was coming

If anything, Corbyn should almost take it as a compliment that they're going in so hard. They're clearly a bit worried

Totally orchestrated media campaign imo... probably in cahoots with or at the bequest of CCO.

Waited till the last day before unleashing a barrage of hyperbole that gives Labour practically no time to respond.
You know an argument is lost when one side resorts to insults, shouting and haranguing the other side.

I am away early in the morning and applied for a Postal Vote.....first time ever I did this.

It is so simple a process it is unbelievable ;)

I have just watched Corbyn give a brilliant speech at Runcorn.

This guy has really risen in my estimation during this campaign.

No matter what happens tomorrow, the last six weeks have been the making of him.

Why is he campaigning in Runcorn? Labour have a 20,000 majority in Halton...

Should be using the last day to visit every single marginal seat he can.

Good point.

He is on a whistle stop tour of Britain today so I imagine he will show up in plenty of marginals.

The think about Runcorn being a safe seat us he is sure of a rapturous reception. And that sets the tone for the headline editors.

But I don't think the venue is all that important these days.

The speech was live on BBC across the nation and no doubt the sound bites from it will be broadcast in every news bulletin for the rest of the day.

Not sure I agree. Runcorn is 30 minutes from Chester, where Labour won by something like 90 votes in 2015. A visit there could sway the balance back in their favour.

As for it being on TV, most people are working and not watching TV at this time of day. I was working in Chester city centre in 2015 and Ed Miliband's visit definitely made a difference, because people see a big fuss when on their lunch and stuff and stop to take a look.

Yes, but those working people will be watching the News tonight and extracts of that speech will be playing on all the news bulletins.

Anyway....it was a fantastic speech.

Indeed, but I'd happily wager that it doesn't have even a tenth of the impact!

Campaigning in marginals would seem a better choice, but in terms of media coverage/exposure... if he's seen and heard to be banging the drum in front of and to a wildly supportive and enthusiastic audience, it's a pr gamble he and his backroom staff probably consider worth taking as against possibly appearing before a smaller, less enthusiastic audience.

While this is true, I think it's a very risky strategy, because you're relying on the news to relay the best parts of your speech (which rarely happens!), whereas a quick stop in a marginal like Chester could really energise voters.
