I didn't pay enough attention to politics to make an informed decision because they all wound me up so I just didn't. I've paid more and more attention to it as I got older
Fair enough mate. I can't knock you for getting annoyed with politicians, they annoy me to this day (even the ones I don't mind annoy me!). I just think sometimes younger people can be their own worse enemys though lack of interest, if you don't vote when you have the chance at 18, you've got to live with the effect of the decision made without you for up to five years. More should be done to educate younger people on the importance of voting and more should be done to encourage then to try making the own politically view points, not their parents or teachers, their own.

Looks like a bad weather day for Labour.. apparently a lot of rain over England and Wales Thursday, and bad weather doesn't help Labour get their voters out.

She's a one issue joke, any half decent party leader would tear her to peaces. Ruth Davidson (just let that sink in!) has pulled her apart enough to demonstrate just how poor she is.
I'm no Nat. In fact I'm voting tactically to keep them out in Edinburgh West but I would be the last person to say that Sturgeon is a "one issue joke".

She's a brilliant and articulate individual. I can tell you that many people south of the border wish that she was in charge in the UK.

Ruth Davidson is a Tory butterball who is enjoying a brief period of popularity.

Surely bad weather stops the old folk voting, and as we've established they're mostly Tories.

When you say many people south of the border I'd love to know who. I've been blessed with a circle of friends and acquaintances from all over the UK and elsewere with a very broad spectrum of political views on both the left and the right and not one of them would want Sturgeon to be leader of this country. Not. One.

If bad weather is enough to cost anyone an election then said party didn't derserve to get in anyway because they clearly didn't have a strong enough voter based with enough commitment to the cause.

Well we clearly move in different circles!

Certainly, women that I've spoken to - relatives and friends in the south - feel inspired by her straightforwardness and determination.

All of the political active woman I know, respect Sturgeon from a feminist perspective but wouldn't ever vote for her politically.

I think Sturgeon has benefited greatly from the awful politicians we've had in this country for years now (and has consequently looked better because of them) which are seemingly getting worse and worse with each passing year.

Plenty of people I know here in the NE like Sturgeon as well. A lad I know works with her often and says she's a thoroughly decent and understanding person to work with.

Bad weather has no known correlation to voter turnout

Old people use the postal vote anyway.

So consequently she's better than the politicians this side of the border?? Bit confused tbh

Only because their terrible. It's not a positive reflection on her, it's a negative one on them. It's really not like she's any good, it's just that others over here are so appallingly bad.
