Including the lamentable number who talk a good game on social media and among friends and then put the cross in the self-preservation box on voting day.

Let's just hope that the idea that the school of thought that May will seek a compromising stance on Brexit negotiations once a massive majority is secured. My personal feeling is that hard Bully boy Brexit is the path to annihilation.

For anyone interested, bet365 has the over / under line for Labour seats at 151.5 (20 seats higher than some other sites). Thoughts?

I apologise, but I'm not a betting man - what does that indicate in simple terms?

That's only one of the issues I raised. What about tax on low earnings. The personal allowance is double what it was under labour. The min wage will soon be double.

Also trade unions have no interest to me tbh. I've never thought about letting someone who I don't like and who is only in it for their own end represent me. Why force me to join, can my professional body not represent me already?

Agree zero hours aren't great. Although suited me to the ground when I was at uni. Exams came and I took 2 weeks off. Outright ban not the answer.

Also public sector pay and pensions need checked. They are grossly unfair and disproportionate to people doing same job in private sector.

Wow. That's a sweeping generalisation about Public Sector Pay much of which is much less than the equivalent job in private sector. And why would you want to squeeze the pensions of hard working public sector workers. They scarcely leave them rich you know...

I don't see how Theresa May, who has never stood for anything other than herself her entire life, is more capable of negotiating with our European counterparts than Jeremy Corbyn.

That doesnt really matter though, does it?

Its not my problem, its yours/his to convince a few million people, who probably arnt hugely arsed about him anyrate, that his team can.

Dianne Abbot aint exactly showing her talents off these last few days has she?

Which reaffirms my point that we need to have a review.

I am aware of this, but I feel that we have no chance in dealing with the situation at hand whilst rhetoric is trumping objectivity and facts every single time.

I'm not here to preach, I'm here to hopefully provide people the opportunity to see an alternative view on the issue - and learn from others that may disagree with me.

And you do so very well, and very politely.

Public sector final salary pensions are grossly unfair and part of the reason why people my age will work to over 70 and get frig all state pension, and have to self fund majority of our own private sector pensions.

My mum is a civil servant. I have this debate regularly lol

As I say they scarcely leave them rich. And I cant see the connection between that and your state pension. I'm still shocked that you are picking public sector workers who do some of the most valuable jobs to society without much financial remuneration to complain about and feel that they are getting too large a slice of the financial pot.

I think the real issue here is not that public sector pensions are too high, but private sector pensions are too low.

Civil servants mainly my gripe is against. The people below them are sound tho and are the ones actually who we should cherish. In short, sack all the beaurecrats and give their wages to coppers forces doctors and nurses.

Sounds good to me ;)

Essentially, you are picking whether they will get more or less than 151 seats

Thank you for clearing it up.

It's a really sad state of affairs, I hope that in the next three weeks we're able to turn the public debate toward the things we're strong on.

Things like the NHS, education, social care and the welfare state.

We can't fund public sector at the current level for pensions and pay reasonable level of state pension too. The welfare system wasn't designed for these demographics.

I understand this, but we can ensure that there is some sort of safety net in place to ensure that people of whom have worked through the entirety of their adult lives (and contributed so much to the country through taxes and service) are able to enjoy their retirements in dignity and peace.

I volunteer at a food bank, and it's so depressing to see elderly people come in. It's sad to see how little dignity we afford these people, and I really hope that we are afforded the opportunity to enact the change that'll return dignity and hope to so many.
