Abbott may be incompetent, she may put her foot in her mouth on a regular basis, but at least she has stood up to fight in this election.

I have far more respect for her, and for the rest of the current Shadow Cabinet, than those in the PLP who are sitting this one out - and doing so for their own sakes, not for the rest of us.

It sounded like she may be willing to fight an election but not anyone who would threaten to kill millions of our people.....

She does far more harm than good though.

Pete - short of Putin corralling all his nukes into a single field and then threatening war, there is no likely scenario where we could save our people by using nuclear weapons on another nation.

In fact, the reason they are on submarines is because the enemy could kill almost all our people without compromising our nuclear weapons.

The question is an absurd one. The bad thing about Abbott and Corbyn is that they don't have an answer to it yet, which is unforgiveable because they don't even have to think of an answer, all they have to do is rob quotes from Yes Prime Minister:

But she messed up one interview so none of this matters now.

Sigh.
Most of the police to be replaced would only be special constables mostly anyway its smokes and mirrors by Labour to go on LBC and come of it like complete fool, then lie on the BBC DP show saying she was tired hence doing six interviews on. This big anouncement early this am the mix up on the figures she was again shot down as she was never asked or quoted any costings on the questions in the other morning interviews about such figures - a complete numpty!
It was own goal territory !

So the people will vote for incompetence.......

In most cases I would agree, the issue is about the unknown. If another state believes we would press the button then there is less likelihood of an actual attack, and as the old yes minister series suggested, the old salami trick would render it useless. The question posed however was slightly different. He asked something like if ISIS obtained a nuclear device and intended to use it against the UK would she be prepared to nuke them first. It's a silly question I grant you, but if it could be guaranteed that blowing up a specific point would eliminate an imminent nuclear attack then would they do it. To prevaricate as she and Corbyn have done, renders the question meaningless because everyone knows their real answer anyway......no one wants nutters pressing buttons, but I'd like someone to resolutely agree to defend us.....

I know that is what Moron asked, but its still absurd. Each Trident missile has eight warheads; to use one to strike a specific point would be like painting a skirting board by throwing a really big tin of paint at the wall.

Again, you are wrong. Since 2010 in London the Met has sold off dozens of police stations, cut nearly 3000 police staff, lost more than a thousand regular officers and they are facing another cut of £700 million after the election. Special Constable numbers have gone down too, but they aren't paid and so cutting them / getting more of them has no direct cost (apart from uniform and whatnot).

Meanwhile, the population of London went up by a million between 2001 and 2011, will probably have gone up by another million by 2021, and we are facing the biggest domestic terrorism problem since the 1980s.

We do have other methods of delivery, such as cruise missiles, but I take your point.....
