Has Moyes got his eye on a big name? Who are we talking about here?

Come on, it's not like a disclosure on GOT is likely to lead to a host of ramifications or consequences. It's the middle of the transfer window and names are getting thrown about all over the place.

Releasing too much information on this forum could very easily scupper a deal. Newspapers read this forum, who's to say that other clubs don't?

Fair enough, I didn't think about the 'other clubs' argument.

But trying to do something 'on the quiet' in this day and age is nearly impossible. Names are bandied about all day long, at this time of year.

Not been linked to him this month but apparently Newcastle have had a bid of £628.000 rejected for Yoan Gouffran. Now Gouffran's deal runs out in the summer and Bordeaux are happy to cash in on him this month but want 1 million Euros for him!.

Now im sure we was linked to him in the summer but wether that was just tabloids and interenet speculation i dont know, but for that price, i think it would be something we should be seriously looking into IMO!.

The lad started out as a winger at Caen and then moved to Bordeaux with a decent rep of being a fast, skillfull winger who got goals but didnt really set the place on fire at first but then Bordeaux lost Chamakh and switched him upfront and Gouffran as never looked back and as been banging the goals in this season!.

Now for a million Euros, this would be ideal and good business for us and he would give us options in the attacking third, and especially options for if the likes of Mirallas was to unfortunately pick more injuries up!.

To me, he could be worth taking a punt on at that price.

was it that van dijk kid? or someone older. lets hope moyes was right because let's just say, i'm not the only one who has my suspicions when it comes to moyes and strikers

exactly, mirallas has looked great, but i wouldn't say he's good enough to be the best player of an international tournament or a team real madrid would look at. Think it's just been so long since we've had a genuine pacy winger who runs at people that we've started to kid ourselves. i'd love to have drenthe back here to be honest - just don't believe what has been said. lets not forget he's be a cover for pienaar as well as mirallas. in an ideal world we'd have a well headed drenthe and donovan to fight with mirallas, osman and pienaar for those front three positions.

Good old Dicky van Dijk is a CB pal. Interested to know who this CF in Holland was??!!!

Is anything actually happening with R.R. Drenthe?

I would imagine that the long period out without a club would make him realise that he's not as 'indispensable' as he thinks he really is.

Agree. Can play wide right when Mirallas is missing and good cover for Jelavic. It's a no brainer in my opinion

Much bigger name mate , this fellas agent is jelavic's and was in fairly heavy talks over the player but moyes pulled it . Whether financial or other factors I've no idea.

You'd think that means we are after strikers but I know fox will say the same as I understand it moyes is impossible to predict in the market as his priorities change regularly . I know he asked more than one aren't about right backs a month ago but I think Coleman is looking like he's making that his own . Like I say it's tough to have any idea what's happening with us

David Texeira of Groningen, Wilfried Bony of Vitesse, Tim Matavz of PSV?. There's Castaignos of Twente but i'd very much doubt its him with him only joining them in the summer?!.

And heard Torisidis of Olympiakos is going cheap with his deal running out, very attack minded FB that can play RW aswell, good player from what ive seen of him in the champions league.
