I think that most people understood that banks are not queuing up to force new loans into our hands. When discussing the credit rating of Everton or any other football club it can only be reviewed when compared to other companies in a similar industry. Is our rating substantially worse than other football clubs ?
Football is a notoriously difficult industry where very few companies make a profit, are we so different from other clubs in our rating ?

YES. Our credit rating is terrible even compared to others in the same industry. If we use a subjective grouping that says:

Green = rock solid comparable to similar sized non-football businesses
Yellow = typical for football (some issues but relatively stable)
Orange = weak financially relative to the football industry but still suitable for funding with caution
Red = very weak, evidence of concern from auditors/banks, watched closely/restricted by lenders, approach with caution
Black = in administration or strongly rumoured to have risk within next 12 months

Everton are Red...and that, we can all agree, is a very bad colour to be ;-)

We will sign someone, but I would rule out the fact we've even made any inquiry for M'vila, in fact I have been told we definitely aren't interested.
