We are moving towards a bid for Junior Malanda with about £3m being the going rate plus some extra installments

malanda is a defensive midfielder who plays for Zulte Varegem in Belgium, big powerful player akin to victor wanyama

fulham also interested

it's either him or ofoe at this point

Malanda is massive, built like a brick sh*t house and he's only 18/19!. Came through the ranks at Lille so will of been schooled well footballing wise i'd imagine. I'm pretty sure he'll be going for cheaper than £3m aswell, i think fulham was linked to him at just over £2m.

But for me Odjidja-Ofoe is more experienced even though he's young aswell and probs would be the more sensible signing for me

He's 18, why would this be a good time to buy someone that young?

He makes a valid point. The debt of a private company is hardly going to be investment grade. You need to compare the rating to other clubs to get any kind of context. I doubt there would be many clubs,if any, that have a higher than junk status.

The weird feeling about this transfer window compared to others, is I expect nothing. Nada. Zilch.

I don't wake and check the Internet.

I don't listen to talksport with baited breath.

And I don't watch sky in the vain hope we get a mention.

The reality is we have no money. Our main concern is keeping Fellaini and Baines. I think they will stay.

The only time I will get excited is when David Moyes posts.

Yet still I have to check........just in case.

It's frustrating and as fans were all impatient, we want signings and we want the now. We all know a couple of quality additions could really push our season and 4th place charge on.

The reality is we don't have much money. We're not desperate for players like last January and there's no doubt the best value transfers come around at the end of the window. It is a waiting game the jan window specially in our posistion.

Coming into this window the only deals you could realistically see us doing early would of been Donovan and ofoe. That's not to be at the moment prob due to other possibilities and different various reasons.

It's the way it has to be for us really. Wish they would cut the window down to 2 weeks or even 1. Would be much better!!

Some buzz that Donovan wants to leave LA, not quit. If that's the case, and he gives LA an ultimatum (sell me or I retire), what happens?

@GMD0012 I've seen a few reports that that's his play. Today a Spanish radio outlet reported it.

Elmer Polanco of Espn Deportes is reporting that Donovan wants to leave the Galaxy not retire.

QPR bound - well stranger things have happened.

Would be made up mate, if he was coming i think we would have seen him before now.

Why u think that?

Obviously are standard Landon loan deal would of been done by now but it's clear that any deal this time would be a perm. Given he would want a off season to rest and his game plan of leaving would have to be sorted with LA i'd expect this one to dragg on a while.

Anyway LA are about to get back to training and there after talking to Landon this week end so we will see where this looks to be going very soon!

This is everton though. Any reason why you think he'd be here by now?

Still has a contract with the MLS, i would be surprised if we had the money or the motivation to want to buy him out of that contract, even if he came next week and thats before match fitness he would be here for six games before heading back and at 3 mill a pop - id be surprised.

Just my opinion like.

Fair point, here's to hoping.

cheers for the info. In you opinion malanda the better player? and cheaper?

Not sure who'd be cheaper because Malanda is young and the club will want as much as they can for him, and ofoe is in the last year of his contract, so it's feasible he could join in the summer on a free.

EDIT: no he wouldn't, my bad

Ofoe would be more sensible, but Malanda could be another gem

Fellaini was only young when we bough him wasn't he? and its all we can really afford
