Stones might end up being a fantastic player for us in the future. I'm happy that we're investing in highly-rated youth who have gained a bit of experience in lower leagues.

However, at the end of the day, we already have Coleman, Neville and Hibbert in that position. He's a secondary signing, not the kind who is going to set Goodison Park abuzz and really give us impetus for 4th.

ok we're demoted to 5th then - which sounds like real PL life I guess.

because sensible teams don't leave it till a last day dash. liverpool, united and chelsea got their business done early. city didn't want to do any and arsenal only bought probable because of the gibbs injury. we still came 5th battling for scraps behind teams like stoke and norwich

We can all predict the ECHO article tomorrow now, good old everton, tried to the last minute. SSDD lids.
I honestly thought we would sign someone. Angry with myself for falling for it all again. I have no faith in our current custodians. The club is losing £5m every year, yet the press tells us Bill is running a tight ship! We hit the iceberg a long time ago. And people still clap him. Apathy. I wonder how people react when Moyes goes in the summer and Bill goes for the cheap option, like Stubbs or Neville. (Shudders)

Even with our injuries we've used the lowest number of players in the league this season - 22.

We really need to pray that we're very, very lucky on this front during the run in...

Rally cry from the skipper for sure.

Very disappointing outcome. When the first 11 are fit we are a match for anyone but we needed that extra bit of quality to really have a go this season. We look so less effective when Naismith and Neville are in midfield. Fer would have been an excellent addition so it is very frustrating. This was a pivotal window, not just for this season but perhaps long term too. I just hope we havn't made a huge mistake.

No ambition mate, no ambition whatsoever. It could prove to be a great opportunity missed ........personally I think we have to just take a gamble on Fer I mean the lad didn't do his cruciate or anything like that he was only out a couple of months, and don't the insurance cover us in case of career ending injuries anyway.

Its left us all on bad downer and I include the players in that as they have all been saying we need fresh blood to reinvigorate a tired squad.

The loss increases the debt. We're not going to reduce that by £9m in one season. The right back was supposed to be about £1m down payment.
Our debt increases ever year, there will be no big £14m spending spree, it'll fall into the money black hole that is efc.

Fully agree. we are mainstays of the top flight yet accept the farcical failings of an inept board time after time. The way the media talk up our owners really angers me too. we make next to no revenue other than the TV income which is scandellous. I dread to think where we would be without Moyes but his miracle working in the transfer market is what is keeping the real issues covered.
